I have to ask.

Just where are these hordes of non-Europeans who wanted access then?
Standing in the shadows, hiding from the light
Reach out in the darkness, and hold on for your life
All the fear of the future, all the emptiness inside
When the moment of truth arrives, hey, you can run but you can't hide

Kind of a follow up to my last rambling, but with Stew's permission I invited a friend of mine from Toronto to join our happy band.

Goes by the name of Dave Pierce and if he posts as much on here as he does on Tri-Net, then we'll soon need a bigger server

So when NP is riding in the valleys doing his new book - 'Are we there yet?', and he bumps into our Reg on his bicycle, what question should our man with the stabilisers ask of the mighty bongo bongo man?

How about:

"Where's your kit then?  And where are the others?  And where are you playing?"

Sod it, that's 3 questions.  Ok, here's a sort of 2 in one.

Reg: "Did you know Neil, that Rush and Karnataka have a) got something in common in that you've both recorded at Rockfield studios and that b) you differ in one big way - Karnataka are UK but are willing to lose money flying to do 2 tiny gigs in the States?"

Neil: (the sound of silence as he refuses to answer)

A more likely encounter would be:

Reg: "F@@k me! Neil Peart - as I live and breath.  I am not worthy.  Please - ride on by and ignore my humble existence".

Neil: "I already did".

Final notes for today:

Members: now 177.  Hoorah.
BT broadband: now 129.  Slowly increasing.

Karnataka:

Having listened to the 3 CDs, they definitely improve with each release, both musically and production quality.  The latest, "Delicate Flame of Desire" is a corker and kicks off with a great 1-2 combo of "Karnataka" and "Time Stands Still", which is exactly what the live DVD starts with.

Excellent stuff.  Even if they are a "bad pub band trying to be a mixture of The Corrs and T'Pau" as my wife puts it.

TTFN.

WOOF!

13 new punters signed up for broadband yesterday - now 142!

Finally listening to some Rush again after my Karnataka binge (boy their latest album is good).

Have been listening to Presto after some posts today, and am now listening to AFTK for my review and yes I know I am weeks behind.

Glad to see members are continuing to increase in size.

Today, I have mostly been listening to Evvy Effin Metall innit.

Judas Priest, the remasters:

Sin After Sin
Stained Class
Killing Machine
Unleashed In The East
British Steel

(heavenly stuff)

Ozzy Osbourne, Live at the Budokan DVD

Oh yes, and Blondie Greatest Video Hits (DVD)

Right.  Finished the Ozzy - now doing Karnataka to calm me down again.  Too much metal can damage the brain.

Ooh.  Found a pub out here in Wroclaw called, wait for it. . .

Rejs Pub.

So now I have to 2 things before I leave on Friday:

1)  Have a drink there (Pete MacCarthy's first rule of travel is that if you see a bar with your name on it, you should have a drink there and,

2)  Get a piccy done of me next to the sign.
