Snoozetime

Prat's got a roadmap of Europe
A quick list of all the bars
All Along the highway
He's got a cheque for fifty thousand
A picture book for toddlers
Under his bandana

He travels right on time in a big bus
With a built in toilet  so no need to run
Like holiday makers the band's on tour for everyone
He's not at home and it ain't no fun
Ain't no fun

Prat's got an old map of Cricklewood
A list of cheap hotels
All much to his dismay
He's got a blister  on his finger
The promise of a decent wash
Wish he was back in his hometown

He travels on the road for sedation
A motorbike out of here  that tomorrow will bring
Like holiday makers,   his bike needs another new spring
He's still not at home and the  touring mings
Touring mings

Now he's not young
Playing the same songs to death
Wondering what new songs are unearthed
Learning that we want new material
  For a limited time

Prat used to own a caravan
  And he painted it white
And left it static in Finland
Wheel balance  all out of kilter
  Toilet had a flickering light
  Got some bedding from Dreamland

He travels in the hope of a new tune
More fans to face who just want to say "Hi"
And all of his solos overlong and very dry
The crowd want some songs and  they want to cry
  Want to cry

He travels on the road on his big bike
Counting the days til its over and done
Like holiday makers, the band's on tour for anyone
He's still not at home and its just no fun
  Just no fun

Although i don't agree with the negativity of some of the lyrics that have been posted in this thread, i've got to say that they are good.

and for the encore

Spirit of radio

Begin the tour
With the same old stuff
Nice n easy. not intrusive
Play the songs that are condusive
And the intro music makes your shocking mood

Still the fans pay
When you hit the road
There is plastic in their fingers
For The Trees ever linger
No demand for this stuff
It's unhappy solitude

Desirable set lists
New stuff is rife
Secret touch again
Make us angry
Emotional punters
Who've parted with cash
Bearing some tat for a price
Heafty fee

All this cacophony
Your modern sounding music
Sounds like i've just farted
Its all a bit half hearted
Its really just a question
Is this policy?

One stifles a heave
On hearing this music
But as the bile rises
And there's no compromises
Mad at the exclusions
No integrity

For the sum of gross profits
Are written on the merchandise stall
Accountant's wall
Echoes with the sounds
of fanbois...

If you are making this up yourself Fishy and not copying it from elsewhere, that is very, very good. You have just gone one notch up in my estimations. ;) :)

Most recently I was referring to the Japanese Banks thread. Wasn't much originality in that. Wit, yes. Originality, no.

I cant believe you are trying to make an argument out of me congratulating your mate. ::) :-/

I did a parody years ago called "Wanking Man". It was cack. :-[

Ah, I thought you were accusing me of copying my Tom Sawyer/Limelight parodies.

The new songs are an abomination

And here is the last one for a while, a joint effort between the Fish and myself ( I did the full stops)

2112

We've taken care of everything

The words you'll hear the songs we'll sing

The banter that will make you want to cry

Old stuff for all,  new stuff for none

Rehearsed to death let's kill the fun

Never need to queue up for a pie

We always play

Arenas and Ice rinks

Our lights and speakers

 Fill the massive Halls

We like to play

The same songs, regardless

All the songs you like,

 Are gone for evermore

Look around this show we've made

Monotony our stock in trade

Better of with Brotherhood of Man

Oh what a wide and gullible world

Let the merch stall be unfurled

Display the boxer shorts high on stands

The new songs are an abomination

You're all very clever (and a tad bitter) folks. Some of it is even funny. :)
