I've been flirting with the idea of upgrading from my trusty 55" Samsung Smart TV to a 65" QLED for months and months but always seem to resist taking the plunge.

However, my resolve is currently being sorely tested as a mid-range model is now available for under a grand!

Tempted by an LG oled 55", if only there was something decent to watch on tv.
Everybody's got to evalate from the norm.

Picked up a Sony KD75XH9005BU 75" Smart 4K Ultra HD HDR LED TV with Google Assistant with a SONY - UBP-X800M2 Smart 4K Ultra HD 3D Blu-ray Player and a SONY - HT-ZF9 3.1 Wireless Cinematic Sound Bar with Dolby Atmos.....it's the first tv I've bought in over 10 years...and it will probably be another 10 before I think about buying another....providing I'm still drawing breath by then.

I saved about £500 and I'm hoping I'll also get back a few more through "Topcashback"....if it tracks.

You're so right on that last point!  That's why I like renting films on blu-ray. :)  I must admit I've been looking at the LG's CX and BX range OLEDs as well; the Samsung QLEDs are a tad more keenly priced however.

In any case, I think I've overcome my latest urge, mainly because small children have the temerity to expect Xmas presents.

I'm looking for two new TVs at the moment. I fancy a 49" Samsung QLED (QE49Q80T) for home and a 43" Panasonic LED (43HX600BZ) for my mum. At the moment the Samsung is around £999 (John Lewis, Currys) although a couple if online retailers are offering it for around £800. I don't really want to take the chance with a little known retailer, although Currys say they will price match with online sellers.

The Panasonic is just over £500 at most places. I will probably wait until the New Year to see if the prices come down before I commit. Anyone have any thoughts, especially on the Samsung?

Don't forget topcashback for a few quid back as well.
