Cats in Space.

Mental, but great fun. I was in the lower age group of attendees. Lots of women who should know better wearing "cat ear" headbands. lots of old men who should know better wearing band tee shirts, but they loved it. I've never seen such an animated crowd at the usually sedate Stables...

Tedeschi Trucks Band

I've fallen out of love with the TTB's studio material, (a bit preachy an but live they're a different proposition.

Palladium is a great venue for them (not so sure about Wembley Arena where we're seeing them in 2020)

Split into 2 sets, the first was a little slow, but the second was excellent. Derek Trucks needs to turn around so the crowd can see what he's doing. Susan T floats my boat in all sorts of ways! Check out Mark's pictures on his Flickr account to see what I mean....

From The Jam

Acoustic support from 9 Below 0 was an unexpected surprise and very welcome.

A fantastic show.

Foxton was plugged in and still plays very well. The bloke "doing Weller" is pretty good - he sounds like Bowie at times, but his guitar work is good and generally his singing is good enough.

Loved every minute

Why is Bez attending a "stoner rock" festival I hear you ask....? To see Earthless is the answer.

We saw 4 bands on the day.

Colour Haze - excellent. will investigate further 7/10
Earthless - breathless as ever, spoiled only by dickheads thinking that moshing is still trendy. 7.5/10
Witch - Shit
All Them Witches. Pretty good and worthy of further investigation 6/10

Since moving to London 12 years ago, now (12 years; bloody Nora), I've changed jobs and I now work in event security at various locations around the city. I work a lot at Wembley Stadium and Wembley Arena.

Since January, I've worked at gigs by The Wombats, Snow Patrol, Boyzone, Fatboy Slim, Catfish And The Bottlemen, Steely Dan, Bryan Adams, Asha Bosle, 21 Pilots, Joker Xue, 40 Years Of Disco (featuring The Village People among others), Hans Zimmer, "Legends Live" (featuring Suzi Quatro, David Essex and others), An all night rave featuring Armin Van Buren, Hall & Oates, "The Gods Of Rap" (featuring Wu-Tang Clan, Public Enemy and De La Soul), Blackpink, Alice In Chains, Roberto Carlos (the Brazilian Tom Jones, not the footballer), Jack Savoretti and Tenacious D.

Gigs I'll be working at in the next couple of months are The Spice Girls, Fleetwood Mac, Metallica, Bon Jovi, The Eagles, Julio Iglesias, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Pink, Janelle Monae (no, me neither), Carrie Underwood, Walk Off The Earth, The Who, Monsta X, ZZ Top and Gurdas Mann.

I've actually bought a ticket for Devin Townsend at The Roundhouse in November. Probably going to see Pelican in October, too.
I talk to planets, Baby!

The Letter R

i'm doing Metallica / Eagles / Skynyrd / ZZ Top - have to try and say hello at some point. :)
