Even though they lost yesterday, I thought Peru played well, but just couldn't finish. France were poor, as we're Argentina, but you don't win the tournament in the group games.

Exactly. No point producing your best football before the knock out part of the competition. All that matters is qualification.
Can the likes of Argentina and France pick up their game when it matters. That is the big question.
You can check out any time you like but you can never leave!

From the evidence so far Spain look to be the best team of the tournament, just tell them to take their siesta after the game has finished not 10 minutes from the end.
England managed to over come a banana skin first game but need to improve their touches in the box ( except Kane ) and tighten the defense a bit.
VAR is proving itself to be just as questionable as the on the pitch officials.

Argentina look awful. Generally, I have a lot more time for Messi than for Ronaldo, but he's been virtually invisible against Croatia and is in danger of being knocked out of the tournament along with his equally poor teammates. Ronaldo looks to be walking towards another Ballon dor.

As I type Modric has just scored a fabulous second goal for Croatia.

An Iceland win against Nigeria and a point against Croatia will see them qualify for the next round regardless of Argentina's result when they face Nigeria.

I was laughing about The Argie's until I discovered I'd got them in the works sweep 🙄.

a pound well spent, mate....I'm sure given the option most England fans would have paid up front for an Argentina exit....let's hope the rest of the group can finish them off...

That camera shot of Maradona wiping a tear from his eye was priceless   ;D ;D ;D  - the second Croatian second goal was excellent.

Argentina were lucky to leave the pitch with 11 men.

Cheering on Costa Rica today against Brazil  8) ;D

Probably for the first time in 30-odd years I had a day where I watched all three World Cup matches.

Thoroughly enjoyable.  Brazil huffed and puffed for 90 minutes until they remembered they’re Brazil for the seven minutes added time.

Nigeria deserved their win against Iceland.

Serbia vs Switzerland a game of two halves; the Swiss might be unfancied but they’ve looked a decent quality side; dark horses, I reckon.

From what I've seen so far, a European winner looks more likely than a South American.

They left it late but that was one special winner from the Germans. Shame

Indeed 30 seconds from going out the tournament - they'll probably win it now!

Well, if ever there was a case for NOT having VAR, Iran vs Portugal was it.
