King's X - Ear Candy

Havn't listened to this in ages. The first half especially stands up with anything they have written.

They did a lot of great stuff after the first 2 - but IMO, nothing comes close to the magic they created with OOTSP and GGTN - the songs, mystery and aura they had around at that time was really something special.  The late 80's really heralded the start of some of the greatest rock music ever produced, I think.
Anger is a gift.

Have had it for a couple of months thanks to Angrymetalguy.com

1st world war obsessed band. It is a very heavy album, interspersed with small spoken and atmospheric passaged. The intro track of a crackly recording of a woman singing a war song is really eerie

I love this album

FHL is slightly less brilliant than those first 2, I'd say.  I got rid of my GGN vinyl in the great record purge of 1994  :-\   I kept OOTSP though - not sure why I kept one and not the other - I got rid of a tonne of vinyl that I had on CD...*facepalm*
