Better drowned than duffers if not duffers wont drown

I like the ability to add things to a shopping list on my iPhone, just tell Alexa to add milk to the list and it appears.

Not so happy that bbc have removed their radio shows from tune-in radio which means I can no longer tell Alexa to,
"play radio 4 in Kitchen" and it would play through my kitchen sonos 5. First world problems.
Everybody's got to evalate from the norm.

That worked for me on Friday, Nick...is it a very recent change?

I'd noticed that the 'Tune In' app no longer works. But BBC Sounds works fine - so if you just say "Radio 4" to a Dot, it will work quite nicely. If you say "play Radio 4" the 'play' keyword will try to invoke Tune In, and that won't work now.

Not sure if BBC Sounds will work remotely with a Sonos like Tune In did, though. Never used that facility myself.

Had a play this AM....

BBC sounds does work as Slim says above, but my Echo wouldn't play BBC sounds to my Sonos.

Yes that's the issue and a retrograde step by the BBC, apparently Tune-in refused to share data with the BBC. I never listen on my dot only via my sonos. I can play BBC radio from the sonos app but was so used to the ease of shouting at alexa.

Quite a good bundle deal on QVC if you wanted all 3 items that are included. Saving about £40 (well, £35 if you include QVC postage) compared to Amazon's prices. Oh - it is currently a "Today's Special Value", so if you ordered today, a saving over over £50 (Amazon prices genuinely are £79.99 + £49.99 + £24.99 = £154.97, QVC TSV price is £94.98 + £4.95 postage). And if you've never ordered from QVC before, I believe you can get another £5 off using code FIVE4U.

No, I don't work for them or get any kind of kick-back, but this is a good deal. Note that it is the 3rd Gen Dot - but not the spanking new one with digital clock.

Also - this now makes me wonder if Amazon have a sale coming up when their new gear is actually released on Wednesday.

Amazon Echo Dot (3rd gen) is £22 in current Black Friday deal (not the new one with the digital clock).
Amazon Echo 3rd Gen (the new one) is £30 off at £59.99.

I've ordered one of each. I've been waiting a while now to get the new Echo at a good price (normally £89.99).

The Echo is a marked improvement over the Dot, certainly in bass at low volumes - and that is an area that I wanted to improve.

I've now got a number of audio groups set up.

It IS annoying that certain things you can't do over grouped speakers.

I have worked out how to do Planet Rock. "Play Planet Rock on Tune-In on Everywhere" will play Planet Rock on my 3 speakers. I had to work this out for myself - I couldn't find an answer to this when I did some searching.

However, "Play Planet Rock on Everywhere" doesn't. I have to mention Tune-In.

On a single device, "Play Planet Rock" works fine.

1st world problem!

I haven't worked out if I can do the same/similar for BBC Radio 4, as Radio 4 isn't on Tune-In as already discussed earlier in the thread.

Overall though, me like. Especially at the discounted prices.

I think you need to teach your group the BBC Sounds  "skill" and link a BBC account to your Alexa App.

Hi Bez.

The BBC Sounds skill is installed and my account linked. I did this a while ago when Radio 4 stopped working on Tune-In.
I have not found any further info online related to this other than people complaining that BBC Sounds does not work on Amazon audio groups.

I have just contacted the BBC to ask if this functionality is available (and how!?), or has it gone now they are not on Tune-In.

Looks like I will have to stick to stuff on Tune-In. I'm enjoying Planet Rock other than the repetitive adverts.

Perhaps its because I'm not based in the UK but I have all the BBC stations available on Tune-In
You can check out any time you like but you can never leave!

I just say " Alexa, play radio 4' and my Dot launches BBC Sounds and plays....

I have no problem with Radio 4 on a single Echo. Just "Alexa, Radio 4" does the trick.
