20/2/18 - Temperance Movement, Junction, Cambridge. Very good 8/10
20/3/18 - Jonathan Wilson, Omera, London. OK, but underwhelming 6/10
22/3/18 - Turin Brakes, The Stables, MK. Excellent, Bass player is still a dick. 8.5/10
27/3/18 - Steven Wilson, RAH. First half & AS,BNH Stunning. Took a while to get going again. 8/10
28/3/18 - Steven Wilson, RAH. Outstanding.  Solo set great. Better view, despite cheaper seats. 9.5/10
29/3/18 - Steven Wilson, RAH. Crowd great (apart from annoying French people talking), less "banter" between songs due to filming. 9/10
6/4/18 - Earthless, Bonkers, breathless and fab 8/10 (would have been more without the annoying "moshers"
13/4/18 - Ezio, MK11. New venue for me, very small. Probably about 50 people in attendance. Good show. 7/10
14/5/18 - Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, Watford Colosseum. Small venue for Noel (2000). Great crowd, great setlist and great "singalong" fun 8/10.
19/6/18 - Pearl Jam O2, London
30/6/18 - Jack Savoretti, Petersfield
4/7/18 - Supersonic Blues Machine, SBE
19/7/18 - Oli Brown Band. Stables, MK
4/9/18-  Devon Allman Project, Islington Assembly Halls
6/9/18 - Jawbone, Stables, MK
12/11/18 - MC50, SBE

Thought Noel's record was quite disappointing - but seeing him live revealed the songs are actually good - they're just ruined by the production.  I thought the 3 girls were brilliant too - it was much livelier on stage - and looked a lot more fun - than when I've seen him in the past with just the blokes - who, lets be honest, aren't very exciting visually.

Only played it a couple of times, but as you say came across pretty well on stage...drummer was excellent and the keyboard girl was good to look at!

Field music!  Nice!  Report back!

It might have been more than 8/10 in a more intimate setting...or even if the seats were somewhere near the stage. I can't complain about value for money or the clarity of the sound; given the complexity of the arrangements and the wide dynamic range demands in performing with such a diverse variety of instruments the Barbican was probably one of the best auditoriums available, and must have cost the band a small fortune to hire, so top marks to them for that, but the ambience was pretty sterile in the circle..which possibly reflects the very middle class make up of the audience as much as my distance from the action.

I confess that I hadn't heard 75% of the set list but I shall be rectifying that as soon as funds permit. The huge array of  influences in their sound was amazing; elements of Peter Gabriel, XTC, Tears for Fears, Squeeze, Jelly Bean, Crowded House, The Tubes, Talking Heads, Scritti Political, Gentle Giant and The Beatles...and probably a few more hiding away in there still to be revealed upon further investigation...that they still manage to sound unique with all those musical reference points and touchstones is quite remarkable! The Horn and String sections really complemented and expanded their sound...I suppose you could legitimately describe their music as Progressive Poprock 😎
I will definitely make a point of catching them on their next tour (and get in early this time)

Many thanks to Hass and his mate Ali for the tickets 👍
