I know most of you don't take much notice of what I like these days (  ;D ) but I think quite a few here will love Elder's new album.

Progressive. Lerxst-esque guitar solos. Time changes, but ones which enhance the song. Lengthy songs that weave and wind - six tracks, between 8 and 13 minutes long. Nods to Rush, Yes, Steven Wilson among others. Heavy, but not too much. Incredible bass work (Jack Donovan is a huge Rush fan, especially of the 80s stuff). Talented power-trio. Lovely dudes who are happy to chat after a gig.

Grab yourself a listen. They're playing here in August (Europe in July).

Aug 6th - Fleece, Bristol
7th - Studio 24, Edinburgh
8th - Soup Kitchen, Manchester
9th - Underworld, Camden
10th - Phoenix, Coventry

Love Elder Andy. Their latest is a true gem indeed. Also like their earlier output and especially Live at Roadburn is a fantastic live album. Nice and raw :-)
Their Holland date is a bit awkward for me, so I'll skip.
If anyone does decide to but the physical copy: Stickman Records is a lovely company to deal with (and the European home for Motorpsycho fanbois like Moi).

This is a good album! Should I go "back catalogue?"
The new songs are an abomination

I did and liked what I found. Check their Bandcamp page for all the releases.Try the Live at Roadburn live album and see how you like that.

Definitely.
Lore is an absolute monster.
Their eponymous debut, which is far heavier and much less prog, is my personal favourite.

Seeing them at HRH Stoner Vs Doom at Sheff Academy on 29th. Can't wait.
