Feel a bit sorry for Neil...a lot on his shoulders with all the long faces.  Still, he seems so focussed I don't think he's that bothered about others disappointment.

Didn't realise Dods was in it to the extent he is - very eloquent and I wasn't aware of his history either - respect to him.

Overwhelming feeling at the end was 'I'm glad they've always been my favourite band'.

I didn't get emotional though.  More disappointed that I didn't make one of those R40 shows.

I still think there's a possibility of further shows - just no tours...

That's what I thought. Some really good stuff with Dods, although it's hilarious that he was subtitled.

Thanks for the link Capt, have sent it to me daughter to order for me. I know where your coming from when you say "Glad they have always been my favourite band"

On the Time Machine tour when the Mrs was a bit sick of touring round with me I felt honoured to take my 30 year old daughter to her first and only Rush show at Newcastle

She spent years as a kid in the back of dads car listening to Rush and the likes.  She was brought up on proper music and I tried my best to steer her away from all that boy band tripe that was just taking off in the late 80s with stuff like Rush, Aerosmith, Van Halen, Thin Lizzy, Ozzy etc.

As a kid of 7/8 her favourite bands were Ultravox, Billy Idol, and Gary Moore which wasnt bad really given that her mates were into all that Stock Aitken and Waterman garbage.

Looking back I am so glad I took her and she thoroughly enjoyed the show.

After the Kate Bush gigs in 2014, that Time Machine Newcastle gig is my all time favourite, front row centre on a Saturday on your hometown - they were just completely on it all night.  Lifeson kept whooping with delight after his solos - which were nailed bang on all night.  Stunning show.  Dublin the week before had been terrible, imo..

I totally enjoyed that Dublin gig but you had the advantage of sobriety to perhaps get a more accurate take on the quality of the show.  ::)
