Well we have been furloughed at work, but our conditions are that while we're on our furlough period, we're not allowed to partake in any other form of employment.

It's been kept rather quiet but this week the Electoral Commission conceded defeat in their High Court action against Leave.EU and its founder Arron Banks. About the only question they were found to have to answer for was a campaign overspend of £58,000 (against a total spend of £11m) for the hiring of some people through an agency which added VAT and a management charge (if hired directly Leave.EU would have underspent by £200,000). Absurdly, the National Crime Agency was involved to prove that the referendum result was bought with Russian roubles. Earlier this year the NCA cleared Arron Banks of all allegations after finding no evidence of any offence or third party money.
The actions of spiteful and embittered establishment figures that tried to smear Arron Banks, Leave.EU and attempt to make the referendum outcome the result of criminal behaviour have come to nothing. The bias shown by the Electoral Commission should be investigated via a parliamentary inquiry - nothing less will do.

When the truth offends we lie and lie until we can longer remember it is even there. But it is still there. Every lie we tell incurs a debt to the truth. Sooner or later, that debt is repaid

More interesting developments in Euroland:

https://uk.finance.yahoo.com/news/merkel-macron-stunning-coronavirus-proposal-185020440.html

Essentially, a change of thinking for France and Germany who are advocating a shared financial response to Covid-19 crisis. Rather than each member state taking on debt, grants will be awarded from a 'recovery fund'. Each member contributing dependent on its level of current funding to the EU.
The snags? Money will be allocated as seen fit by Brussels. They will probably want something in return for their 'generosity', probably more convergence on tax policy. Ultimately that equates to (further) weakening of national democracy.

I wonder how many people after seeing how the government has handled the current crisis are having second thoughts about the lies fed to them on Brexit and how little faith they must have now in the ability of the government to pull off numerous trade deals by the end of the year.

Lies everywhere.
Everybody's got to evalate from the norm.
