I'll give you gymnastcis as well....
I think the niche sports such as diving, fencing etc deserve their place in spotlight too.  Incredibly gifted and dedicated athletes who rarely get a chance to shine.
You can check out any time you like but you can never leave!

It took 16 posts - far more than I expected.  ;) ;D

True story - Indie Lass asked me what the difference is between volleyball and beach volleyball, and I replied in beach volleyball you don't care what the score is.  Bit of an open goal that, to be fair...  ;D

I think rowing and shooting as well .. those are time-honoured Olympic sports. I think I might be persuaded to include the beach volleyball too.

2 Golds, very nice but starting to look like we won't get close to the medal haul from 2012. To be expected that we'd do better at a home Olympics of course, will be interested to see how the results stack up against 2008.

Would love to see Laura Trott  do well. The Omnium is the only organised cycling competition of any sort that I have any interest in at all. Never watched the Tour de France or any of that. Nothing wrong with it, just don't find it interesting.

He'd have a good chance of winning if he kept going till the end.

I've been watching the cycling this evening, quite exciting I must admit.
