Just finished watching the Joanna Lumley programme on Japan  and it's definitely on the to-do list (Japan, not Joanna Lumley  ;))

Did you see it as it's definitely worth a watch before you go?

I'm off to Vietnam in 3 weeks , can't wait  8)

Hi Craig..watched the first 2 episodes and I'll catch the last one his weekend.  Really enjoyed it.

Such a different type of holiday for us...hope it's suitable for the kids..keen for them to experience different cultures, etc etc.

Wife says that her Vietnam/Cambodia holiday in 2000 was her favourite ever.  Although, she tends to say that about anything where I wasn't present...

Enjoy!

So...booked to see the Bowie exhibition (the one from the V&A a few years ago, as the Wife missed it)..tea and Miyako Odori Geisha show with tea beforehand and today I sorted my Rail Pass - asbargain at £940.00  :o

Its going to be a costly one, thats for sure.

Don't think its wise to book a Mount Fuji tour until we are there as that seems to be very much weather dependant.  Hoping to use the rail pass for day trips to Kamakura and Nara and maybe Osaka.

Tokyo Disneyland too...

Didi a Fuji day trip from Tokyo....we were all hungover and nearly missed the bus....were very lucky with the weather and had great views...

I seem to remember that we booked it through our hotel (although it was 25 years ago!)

So, with less than 24 hours to my flight to Amsterdam (from where I fly onwards to Tokyo) - and after I've checked in and printed boarding passes - I get an email telling me that the flight to Amsterdam is cancelled.  I decide not to wait the 3 hours they suggest they will provide an alternative itinerary and call them.  I am offered a flight that will get me into Tokyo 14 hours later, fecking up my scehduling completely.  Oh, and it will take 3 flights to get there - including a final one with Korea airlines.

I go mental.

Pass the phone to the Wife - she is then offered a flight from Southampton, but we have to get there in the morning.  She is then offered a flight to Amsterdam at 10pm tonight.  We ask her to do this.  She then disconnects the call.  Their UK call centre clearly isnt in the UK.

Wife then gets through to another lady who books us on a flight to Amsterdam tomorrow morning at 10am from fecking Durham/Teeside.  A £100 taxi fare away, but at least it gets us on our original flight to Tokyo from Amsterdam.

Oh, and I forgot to mention we are sitting in 2 groups of 2 despite me paying around £130 to confirm my seats last fecking April.  Seems the seats we booked on the flight to Tokyo have gone to some other c***.

And KLM deleted my apoplectic tweets to them 3 TIMES.

c***s.
