My new place has a rooftop and I can see the Empire State Building unobstructed (from Brooklyn, anyway)!  8) ;D

That's really nice. The next thing to do is take a telescope or good pair of binoculars up there and see if you can see your place from there. I tried this from the top floor of One Canada Square years ago and I could just about make out the road just around the corner from my flat in East Dulwich.

Getting 5 PJ Harvey records from her site yesterday - a flash sale out of nowhere.  They've never been repressed and normally retail at over £200 a piece.

And a couple of signed tour posters as well.

Happy days.

A nice cycle ride out in the Peak District in sunny Spring weather - apart from the cycling bit.

Having a nice easy day at work after a few beers and a late night quizzing. It's nice to get to the stage in your job where they pay you for what you know, and not what you do 😊.

Bez

One from Saturday....

Bez junior passed his basic training to be a firefighter for Herts Fire & Rescue.

This represents a 13 year journey for Joe, he first applied while still at school.

The last 4 months have been pretty tough with 12 hour days and then working in the evenings to pass tests.

Proud doesn't begin to cover it.

Pics from the passing out parade / event here for those who haven't already been subjected to them on Facebook:

Marvellous stuff, Bez.  :)

Banked my cheque from Scottish Shower this morning; by taking a phone pic of it after opening an app with my fingerprint.  What is this sorcery?!  :o :D

Another well received Classic Vinyl night at the local. Got promoted to the larger function room for this month's presentation of Reggatta de Blanc and Peter Gabriel's So. Thought the small Rega speakers would struggle to fill the space but they did a decent job, Cranked  the sub woofer up a notch for So which  made a very agreeable noise that impressed a few punters. Another excellent night. Might find a pair of trouser-flapping floorstanders on eBay for next month  ;D
