Ernie Ball Cobalt/M-Steel etc Strings
« on: September 10, 2015, 10:51:40 AM »
I currently use the standard Ernie Ball strings on my electric guitars and I'm quite satisfied with them, but I wonder if anyone has any experience of using their apparently super-duper upgraded Cobalt and M-Steel (etc) strings?  Do they sound better?  Are they more responsive (I like my squealers..)?  Do they last longer?  Are they more durable?  In short, are they worth the near 100% increase in outlay..?  I know this is fundamentally a subjective thing and the best advice is "try them yourself" but I'm curious as to other players' learned thoughts.

Cheers. :)

My concern with those would be accelerated fret wear. Never actually tried them though.
