Myself and Mrs YYZ are doing the Berlin show arriving Monday staying in the Melia Hotel right into city centre for 4 nights.
Really looking forward to the visit and of course the gig.
Is there a definite pre gig bar yet or are we still throwing venues into the ring so to speak to gather public opinion. With it being in Germany it would be great if we could amass a British contingent in one bar.

By the sounds of it half the crowd will be "Tommies"....

Over on the other Berlin thread there's mention of this place http://www.hopsandbarley-berlin.de/index.html which looks quite close to the O2 World and also in easy reach of the U-Bahn & S-Bahn stations at Warschauer Strasse. Given that most hotels will have WiFi I would suggest that the TNMS Facebook Page would be best for keeping in touch whilst out there.

Looks a bit out the way this place.

There's two other interesting bars near it so it's not too out of the way. Paule's Metal Eck is one of them....

Berlin is a sprawling city.  There's bound to be somewhere decent nearby  :)

These bars are in Friedrichshain which is where I am staying. My mate booked our hotel based on it's good location so it can't be too far out of the way. Paules Metal eck seems to come up a lot when googled and gets decent reviews. :)

The area near the O2 (Friedrichshain) is absolutely chock full or bars and eateries - excellent area!

Another option is if you head over the Warschauer Bridge from Friedrichshain to Kreuzberg, theres shitloads of bars and restaurants in Schleisische Strasse / Skalitzer Strasse area. 15 - 20 min walk to the O2. Some bars in Berlin open late and stay open until the wee small hours, but wherever you are, somewhere'll be open, guaranteed.  No-one is going thirsty in this city, trust me  :P

How about this one  http://www.gastronavi.de/restaurants/96 , Löwenbräu beergarden, very near to the venue by the river.

That's about 400 metres from my hotel. Might pop by for a beer in the afternoon.
I have to get to the arena early as I have my Meet & Greet to attend to.
