I tipped Bingham to go close this year, and he made a great start yesterday going 8-1 up in the first session against debutant Sam Baird. Poomjaeng was entertaining in beating Maguire, and as he faces Michael White in the next round, that guarantees at least one debutant in the QFs.

No mate, but Milkins played well. Did you see that Poomjaeng last night? Mad as a box of frogs, but harmless enough I suppose. He became the first player to lose a frame at the crucible due to the 3 misses on the trot rule as well.

Selby out now as well!

He looked out of sorts in his first round match as well, but got away with it.

The regular jaunts to the far east , for the top seeded players this season, seems to have taken its toll on them.

O'Sullivan after his break, seems fresh (unfortunately)

Ronnie 7-1 up on Bingham in the QF, and hard to see anyone other than the winner of the Murphy/Judd match stopping him from retaining his title.

Yes he looks unstoppable to me now.

Hopefully, he will stop slagging off the game and giving it a bit more respect once he has the cash in the bank.

Ronnie 12-4 up and needs just one frame tonight to make it to the semi's. Loved Hendry's quote about him in commentary the other day. "He's not bad for the world number 28"

Ronnie into the final, and I just can't see him being troubled by the winner of the Walden/Hawkins SF, which hasn't exactly been the best standard. As I type Hawkins is just one frame from winning it at 16-13, after being 12-8 down at one point.

Yep, Hawkins made it through to face Ronnie in the best of 35 frame final today and tomorrow. I just can't see Ronnie failing to win his 5th world title.

Been a disappointing World Championships on the whole. I watch it every year but just haven't enjoyed it as much this time. Only great match was the Trump/Murphy which was a cracker and the Murphy/Dott game was pretty damn good too. Wish Murphy had beaten Trump, I really think he would have given Ronnie a better match.

I can only see this final being heavily one-sided, but I hope I am wrong.

Decent enough first day with Hawkins going 3-2 up, and drawing level at 7-7. Ronnie seems to be able to find another gear when needed though, and leads 10-7 overnight.
