We have got plenty of young talent coming through, the trouble is though they just get farmed out on loan to lower league teams, and don't get enough top division football under their belts. We need a rule where you can only have so many foreign players in your starting eleven in the PL, then more of our young talent would get top league experience.
A foreign player limit would help the England team but it is unlikely to happen, certainly not if we stay shackled to the EU. For England to have such difficulty beating teams like Croatia and Belgium says it all.We have a population of 60m and the most popular league in the world ffs (probably because of all the foreign talent!)
Very pleased there wil be no official reception for the returning England team. They are not heroes, just a mediocre international football side. The one thing they can be applauded for is their conduct on and off the field of play. Nice to get through the competition without any alcohol-induced off the pitch incidents. Worth noting the fact that the travelling fans also behaved themselves - well done, let's hope this is a sign off things to come.

All well and good, but that would decrease the standard of Premiership football as a whole, and as it’s all about the ££££ the likes of Sky wouldn’t be having any of that.

Perhaps I just think he's been bloody awful apart from pens. Missed a couple of sitters both against Croatia and Begium and contributed very little in build up play.

1 of England's worst players in the tournament imo. Certainly since the knock out stages, perhaps he was injured?

To make matters worse he actually said "England put the pressure on". He should be stripped of any awards for that remark alone!
I strongly suspect that we'll find out that Kane has been carrying an injury. His movement after the Panama game was poor

If so then that would mean that Kane, Vardy and Ali had all suffered injuries in the tournament which is unfortunate. Sometimes, with a combination of good organisation, luck in your favour and momentum you can shithouse your way higher but most England fans would have taken winning a game on Penalties and 4th place before the tournament started.

We didn't do no more than we should have been expected to do with the opposition we faced. It was clear when we got to the last 4 though that we were quite a distance behind the other 3 countries in terms of ability.

European Championships thing underway and after a slow start against the Czech Republic a commanding performance and 5-0 victory.

Sterling did the team proud with a hat-trick and deservedly won man of the match.

I still don’t know what Southgate sees in Dier and Delli Alli, but he’s got the squad extremely well drilled and has the goodwill of the fans.  Doing a very good job.

We can't complain after last night, but I'm not getting carried away. I still maintain that we only achieved the minimum of what we should have done at the WC. We only played 2 good sides, one of them twice, and lost all 3 don't forget.

Well another drubbing handed out to an admittedly inferior outfit tonight; however, the team are brimming with confidence and goals so nobody will fancy playing England at the moment.

Southgate continues to show his class, unlike of course knuckle-dragger sections of the Montenegro crowd who reportedly chanted racist slurs.  :(

Sad. because Monte is a nice place and the people are genuinely warm and friendly.

You obviously haven't encountered the ones who follow their football team then mate.

Is that not the same as saying people shouldn't like England because of the rascist p****s who abused Sterling and Aubemenyang this season (just 2 examples to hand)?
