Unexpected mention of Tom Sawyer in Wire magazine this month...

Wire...the magazine for people who listen to really weird music have a bass inspired special this month...where they examine the different impact/influences and examples of the bass in modern music.

One of the article picks a whole lot of tracks from different genres and Tom Sawyer crops up.

The written piece is a load of crap in parts as it carries on the age old Ayn Rand music press shit but there you go never the less Rush are mentioned. The writer Joseph Stannard over a few paragraphs hails the Apollonian approach to bass over the usual Dionysian approach-he probably misses the Hemispheres link as his head is so far up his own arse.

Anyway it appears he likes the bass line and especially the Moog bass aspect.....

Well worth a sneak peak at your local newsagent...page 45 so you don't ned to look at the pictures of saxophone players in skips with traffic cones on their head and aging bookish suit dressed ambient pioneers in their New York lofts with endless wires coming out of their antique synths.
