Thanks Craig....I was looking at Koh Samui for the last 5 days-is, actually...

Where are you flying into if you're starting in Hua Hin?

Still fly into Bangkok and then taxi to Hua Hin.

We have a local company we always use and it costs £50.

All the hotels will also offer a pick-up service but will charge more (plus the hotels use the same cab company we do)

Last question, Craig - how are you getting from Hua His to Koh Samui?  Are you going back to Bangkok and then flying to Surat Thani...

Surat Thani?

No, there's an airport on Samui and it's one of the nicest airports you'll ever fly from.

However, rather than going back north to Bangkok, we head south and use the coach and ferry service, which is great and runs twice a day from Hua Hin.

The coach takes you the ferry terminal at Chumphon and then the ferry goes to Samui via Koh Phangan and Koh Tao, takes a full day but it's a great trip and costs about £35 each.

From Samui we then fly back to Bangkok and there are flights every hour and again it costs about £30-£50 per person.

Flight time is 1 hour.

If you need any advice on hotels in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Hua Hin or Koh Samui, let me know.  8)

Thanks Craig...

With the kids in tow, I think we're better off airbnb'ing it.

Flights including all the internal ones are costing a fair bit...should have booked the long haul ones back in April, really....

Going at Easter probably makes them premium price as well..

Ah, Easter hols?

Yes, not cheapest time to go :-\
