Booked to go in July, 10 miles from Dubrovnik, hiring a car, looking forward to it.

Went a few years ago.  Absolutely loved it.  Dubrovnik is beautiful.

Enjoyed Croatia very much, fantastic coastline, breathtaking in places. Managed to do Dubrovnik , a few island hops and a hit and run into Bosnia for a fridge magnet.

Me and the Mrs are going to Zadar in September. Very much looking forward to exploring the lakes in the north

I liked Croatia. We did Montenegro the last couple of years, but flew into Croatia both times.

Just back from 16 days in Croatia - flew into Pula and spent a day there - then drove to Motovun ( most famous for Mario Andretti being born there ), an old hill top village in the North and hiked to a vineyard for some tasting. Then drove to Cres and Losinj 2 Islands - via the ferry - Losinj is beautiful. Another Island hop to Rab then onto Zadar and finally into Trogir about 10 mins from Split airport for our return. Happened across Nikola Tesla's Birthplace, where there is a museum and some working replicas of his inventions.
Overall a great experience - driving is dead easy as roads are good and traffic is light, Ferries were all on time, streets were clean, food was good and people were very nice. Some of the areas we visited we were pretty much the only people there and the coast lines and walks are well worth it.

I thought Zadar was stunning when I went there last year. I loved the sea organ and the salute to the sun down by the water side. But the big highlights for me were the national parks. We went to both Plitvice and Krka and they were both breathtaking.

I'm tempted to look at going to Croatia next year, but I've been told all the beaches are pebbles?

As far as I am aware it’s not a beach country. However its a great place with good food. The sea is clean and there are incredible islands and coastal drives and some amazing inland national parks.

Most of them are Rob but I think there are a few areas that are sandy.

Yes the sea organ is something else - very ethereal sounds and the sunsets there are pretty good and that solar coloured disco pavement :) . We visited the waterfalls at Krka which were stunning but that was the only place we visited that was full of people which was a bit of a shock after going other places that were quite empty - we weren't prepared for the coach loads being bused in!!

Spot on - well worth a visit imo - will probably go back and do a bit more now - lots more to see.

It sounds like me and Wendy would enjoy it then, but maybe it wouldn't be Alicia's cup of tea?
