Our next contestant is a real "mutt" of a song... Dog Years.

i think it's a case of it's pretty bad but it's quite good in a weird sort of way...  (i think ?)   :-/
From the Land of Honest Men.

A song with some redeeming qualities, but very few... the only thing that kept me from saying "I despise it...".

Not one of our boys finest hours...

went for option 4, but could easily have slipped into 5....

I like it but it's not one of my faves.

Well, in the Rush standards it's definitely not a masterpiece but I think it's kinda hilarious tune.  ;D

Craig Bayfield

I used to despise this track because of the embarrasing lyrics, however the tune has grown on me, it's not in the same leauge as "Speed of Love" or "You Bet Your Life" that's for sure.

Thusly I voted for the I don't hate, but don't like option.
I'm old enough not to care too much, about what you think of me.
But I'm young enough to remember the future, and the way things ought to be

i think it would be a good laff if they tried it out live... :D
From the Land of Honest Men.

love the song,it seems to get better every time you hear it.

a definate crufts contender!!!!!!
Some people say they've seen angels,
I've seen United,
That's enough.

I still can't work out how a dog can have its tail between its ears.

The musics pretty rocking though.........
Anger is a gift.

Dave Brenchley

I love the start of the song - really energetic - up to about when the singing starts, after which it all goes badly wrong...
We're all here in celebration, this music's gonna make us strong....

"I'm not crazy about it but I don't hate it"

It wasn't as bad as I remembered. Maybe it really does get better over time  :o

"I despise it and never want to hear it again" is a bit too strong, but it's the closest to my thoughts on Dog Years from the available options (there's a bit of a gulf between the last two, in my opinion.

Anyway, it's pretty bad, not right down there with Virtuality but not something I enjoy listening to.
Lies run sprints, but the truth runs marathons.

Nicola B

Put it down as a 4. A mate of mine who logs onto a Marillion chat site said it was voted in the 10 ten worst lyrics of all time in a poll. Not sure where the poll originated, may have been on that site...he took great delight in telling me...
If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice...

Dog Turd. I don't despise it but I wouldn't lose any sleep if I never heard it again.

Its not as bad as Color of Right which, with Speed of Love, is the nadir.

Dave Brenchley

I rather like The Colo(u)r of Right. Can't really remember why right now though - must give it a spin to find out :-)
