The Farseer Trilogy by Robin Hobb

Very decent books indeed, much better (IMHO) than the Game of Thrones set of books if that is your type of thing
The new songs are an abomination

It's good but a little long.

If you like it read 'The Gargoyle' by Andrew Davidson. A bit different,a jump to the left but along the same lines.

Some people say they've seen angels,

I think I'm enjoying this. Intriguing premise but it's a little...dull.

Another random one from Rach's book shelves. All seems a bit familiar - I'm sure I've read this before, or it's been adapted for TV.
Loving the writing in this - so much so that the plot seems almost incidental at some points. Good stuff.

Bought this for Rach for Christmas, picked it up and hooked. Funny, raw and, err, educational.  ::)

Roger Deakin is the guy who wrote the excellent Waterlog about wild swimming. Loved that.

following on from the "Leonardo: Painter at the Court of Milan" Exhibition at the National I've been dipping into

Leonardo da Vinci The Complete Paintings Frank Zollner (Taschen)
Leonardo da Vinci The Graphic Works Frank Zollner/Johannes Nathan (Taschen)

The word "Genius" is banded about far to frequently and easily but this man was the real deal! Some human beings just stand out so far from the norm as to be freaks of nature. ... my puny mind has been well and truly blown away!
