You've got a long, long way to go and it's not a very good book. Matter is by far his best science fiction novel for years, although it's not in the same class as Use Of Weapons.

I take it you meant Surface Detail? And yes, Use Of Weapons is a brilliant book. :)

I've finally started reading Alastair Reynold's The Prefect.  Set in the Glitter Band around Yellowstone in his Revelation Space universe, this (so far) is typical Reynolds.  Needless to say, I'm enjoying it immensely.  This guy knows how to ring my bells.
Standing in the shadows, hiding from the light
Reach out in the darkness, and hold on for your life
All the fear of the future, all the emptiness inside
When the moment of truth arrives, hey, you can run but you can't hide

That looks like Catalan, Ron - is that a language you've picked up ?

It is Catalan, Dom. But I am reading a Dutch translation.
Having a hard time already learning Spanish, so no time for Catalan. :)
