I mentioned in simple pleasures a frozen Thai Chicken Curry ready meal at £1.59.  Really hit my taste bud bell did that.  I've had a couple of them now.

Also, a 4 pint semi-skimmed milk at Aldi is £1.09, compared to around £1.60 in Tesco/Sainsbury.

Their "Oatie" biscuits at £0.45 are a very nice alternative to Hobnobs, and Morrisons sell the same Oaties at about £0.80.

What else have I had from Aldi?

Oh yes - Snackrite Cheese Tortillas and Snackrite sweet curry dip.  Nice.

10 eggs for 99p.

Their cheap 19p yoghurts - quite acceptable.

Aldi Super 6.

Let's here it for Aldi Super 6.

http://www.aldi.co.uk/uk/html/product_range/4862.htm

On Saturday, I got 1 Kg of new potatoes, 1 Kg of onions, and a whole swede all at 39p each.  Absolute bargain.  They had sold out of broccoli or I'd have had some of that, too.

One year on from Neil's prediction - anyone find that they are relying on Aldi more?

Certainly our shopping habits have not changed in the past two years - but that was because we were already doing our main shop at Aldi.

All I can say is that the 3 Aldi's I've visited over the last twelve months across the Wirral, particularly the large one located in 'posh' Heswall which I take Mum to most weeks is absolutely heaving

We shop there every week for our 'main' shop - their product range is ever expanding. There is still the odd occasion when we can't get a particlular item at Aldi and so we 'top up' from other stores mostly Sainsburys or the spanking brand new Cheltenham Asda! We are spoilt for choice really!

Would only consider shopping at Aldi if i couldn't afford to do it at Sainsburys.

Aldi's sandwich meats are absolutely delicious. I paraticularly like their genoa sliced ham. They also sell Active 10+ Manuka honey are less than £4 for a 250g jar. That'd sting you a tenner or more anywhere else. Delicious fresh baby asparagus in packs for 99p. Perfect for steaming. :)

People have already aired their views on ALDI but I just wanted to add that they have loads of Christmas essentials on sale for cheap right now. Things like wrapping paper, cards, ribbon, chocolate, even Christmas Crackers. I bought a fresh Christmas Wreath from ALDI yesterday for half the normal price of my normal place and it looks a lot nicer. Anyway, just my thought. Cheers.

Are the Frozen Goose in stock yet, bargain of the year compared to most others and winner in most blind tastings by chefs?

Ok this is now MAJOR, not just a one week only tease. Aldi are stocking Wolf Blass President's Selection Cabernet Sauvignon for at least a month now at £9.99!! Don't normally see this for under £15 in any of the other stores. A cracking good complex cab sauv it is too. Get in there! :)

Don't give him any ideas!  ???

Ron liked our Aldi Christmas turkey (£9.99 for a 4.6 kilo bird) so much that he insisted we get one of the last three rolling around in the freezer case. It's bbe date is in 2013 - will it last that long in a domestic freezer though?
