Great stuff Andy. The Hip show was indeed stupendous, and I like your description off the band. Pity we didn't get more of a chance to chat - but hopefully we'll meet up again soon.
Why isn't there a sarcasm font?

How can you be writing this already?  There's a weekend to go yet.  Anything could happen  8)

Nice story though.  Did I tell you my family-in-law come from Oldham & Hollinwood.  They will be fascinated.  The rest of us will just carry on yawning  ;D

excellent story about the old documents  :)
I remember finding a couple of Victorian Headmaster's Log Books at my old school. Fascinating details about punishments, attendance figures with details of measles outbreaks and the like. There were records of inspections - about a paragraph long! Ha! Also, gems like a half day off for the boys to attend the Queen laying some foundation stone of the V&A (or it may have been a topping out stone?? - can't remember).

It was wonderful to share it with the pupils - we were studying the Victorians and I used copies of pages for years afterwards but the Logs themselves got archived properly.

Put up a link to the radio programme when it happens??  :)
Cut to the chase

Good read mate - I know an air traffic controller, he runs the BJH fan club/website, so be warned!
