It's catching on in America now.

http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory?id=6233137

Will be interesting to see how such a statement would be accepted in the USA. In some of them southern states a bus with a 'non-god' slogan on may just cause trouble. (Gotta love free speech).
I was thinking of buying one of the tee shirts that the Humanists are now producing for this campaign, but maybe not - just a coffee mug or two perhaps. It's bloody great seeing such a bold statement emblazoned across the side of a bus, but  having the same thing across your chest is a different matter. Woouldn't want to be accused of 'preaching' now would I?  :D

Man refuses to drive 'No God' bus

A Christian bus driver has refused to drive a bus with an atheist slogan proclaiming "There's probably no God".

Would he have reacted the same way if he was driving around a pro-muslim (for example) advertisement, or an advertisement of other faiths? It's strange that people are more tolerant to other beliefs but lack tolerance of disbelief.

A very sad reaction but not surprising.

Kind of proves the point of the slogan, really. Just enjoy your life...

They are looking for the next slogan at www.richarddawkins.net.
Here's some suggested so far... Some are a bit too, err, inflamatory. Some are excellent.

"Stop worrying. If Jesus comes, he'll tap your head"
"Aren't you too old to have an imaginary friend?"
"Chill! No one is going to burn in Hell!"
"We are all atheists, some of us just go one god further"
God, No.
God: 100% Man-made.
Original Sin? To Hell with it!
Only Sheep Need a Shepherd
Instead of worrying about your next life, try living this one.
Live your life. It's the only one you've got.
Reason is the TRUE light of the world
"Judge not, lest ye be religious"
"Stop praying and DO something for humanity"
"Hell-free zone"
"The only miracle left is altruism"
"Evolution: accept no substitutes"
"Without god, life is everything"
"A wise man proportions his belief to the evidence."
"The invisible and the non-existent look very much alike."
Mything Buses = Bad. Busting Myths = Good
You could worship.... or you could do something useful with your time"
"There's no such thing as a Darwinist child"
Great minds think for themselves.

I don't see why this is a sad reaction Chris. What is sad about not wanting to promote something that goes against his beliefs? You can tolerate something without actively promoting it.

I guess, but as Chris says this is all about tolerance, and just because he's driving the bus doesn't mean he's personally promoting atheism. Seems that when he had an add for the "Saw 5" slasher flick (or some other gratuituosly violent/non-christian film) on the side of the bus he didn't think "I'm shocked" and refuse to drive the bus. No, he just got on with his life. There's been buses going round for ages with that odious Alpha course on the side. If he looked into that he'd be pretty shocked.

This is interesting. For a lot of employers, a lack of religious tolerance would be enough to be sent him down the road with a P45. People of different beliefs are people of different views; they pick and choose what they want to believe, just like atheists/agnostics. Would he refuse to drive a bus promoting Islam, which has quite a different view of 'his' Jesus?   ???

I'd like to suggest 'Hands up whose god would like to start the next war?'
'some are born to move the world, to live their fantasies'
