Got home just in time to see the super overs. That was tense.

What a game of cricket.

Fantastic game. The smallest of margins, great tension and a successful outcome....what more could anyone want? 8)

We had three big bits of luck.

1. The first ball was out..but not.
2. The Six that was caught, but was Six
3. and the Four over runs.

Crikey what a game.

Bloody amazing game, just listened to the Radio 5 live highlights, so exciting even a day later.

New Zealand must be gutted.

Is this really cricket, this "one day" version of the game? What's happened is something akin to the England international football team winning a five-a-side competition, isn't it?

The great beauty of cricket, is that you can make it as long, or as short as you like. From 10 over slogathons to timeless Test Matches.
The one day game had formed the backbone of Club Cricket since time immemorial.

So, it turns out that England were 'gifted' the World Cup by a dodgy umpiring decision. The six runs awarded for the 'overthrow' incident (four off the outstretched bat of Stokes), should have been five. At the point of the throw the batsmen had not crossed so they only ran one, not two.
Funny old game!

Nïckslïkk2112

No. The six runs were six runs. The umpires said so. End of story.

My arse. That's just put there for political correctness so as not to upset the snowflakes.

It's happening in a few sports mate, all about quickfire entertainment these days. Long gone are the times of Boycott batting all day for 50, and Thorburn taking 20 minutes for a 30 break.
