Cricket
« on: November 29, 2007, 21:28:18 PM »
Is there anyone here who likes cricket and who would be prepared to exchange thoughts during the coming series? I admit I'm not too knowledgable as I've only ever followed the test series and not county cricket (apart from the days when Warwickshire were doing well as I had a big crush on Dermot Reeve!). Got into it when I was at Uni and had nothing better to do than sit in front of the TV for 8 hrs a day. Been to a couple of England one dayers at Old Trafford and drank myself silly, dragged my other half along but he just doesn't get it. In fact, I don't know anyone who gets it!  :'(

FANTASTIC! I hope we can have some daft chats on here during  the next few weeks. I usually follow the ball by ball text commentary on the BBC news website, covertly, when I'm at work, or listen to TMS if the boss is off. Looking forward to it now!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't like cricket.....I love it....

Like you - dunno much about it but used to go to the Essex county ground when I were a lass...

I loved it when Channel 4 took over test matches cos they did an 'idiot's guide ' to cricket.

I love TMS too

I have to admit to being another closet fan - though I watch the commentry on cricinfo & the guardian rather than the bbc.

I think we will get slowly ground into the ground (or pudders strip) in this series.

I think I walked past Bez at the MEN in October but I was too shy to say hi.

did i look that scary  :o ::) I spoke to loads of new people at the MEN on the concourse....

I do like my cricket, especially when fuelled with lager....

Its the quintessential English summer game.

Well I was going to come on and say well done to England for dismissing Ceylon on day one after they ahd decided to bat, but England are one down already with Cook back in the hutch. Normal service has been resumed.
