I see Tool have a new CD and a small tour along with the Download Festival.  Any thoughts? I love them, some great bass and monster riffs.  ;D

Possibly my favourite band in the whole wide world - but also one of the laziest. The new album title 10000 Days (assuming it's not just an elaborate joke) presumably refers to the average length of time between Tool albums/tours. ;D

I wish they were doing a full UK tour so I could stalk them - I suspect we'll see Rush tour here again before Tool next come back. ::)

Prolly an elaborate joke, along with the tracklisting and fake artwork purported to be the new cover.  :)

I just told the guitar player in my band who is a HUGE Tool fan about the new album. He didn't know about it until I told him... ;D And he was the one who got me hooked. The first time he played Lateralus he was like a little child in a candy store. I've never seen a person so excited about a band, he couldn't sit down, he talked non stop except when he said "listen to this part"... ;D

Got my tickets, booked the hotel and the train! Classic, can't wait.  I haven't seen them live before.  ;D

www.totalrock.com briefly posted a sneaky review of the new album from a press preview last month. The band/management were most displeased & had it taken down (journos had been sworn to secrecy on pain of death, or something) but I found this on another forum:

QuoteThe journalist Andy King has taken ALOT of **** from TOOL's management and record company for posting this review on totalrock.com, which was taken down because of pressure from the band, their managment and label. He has now been denied the scheduled interview with the band because of this review, which in my opinion doesnt reveal much. Anyway, here's what all the drama is about...

Review Part Two:

QuoteTrack 1 (7min 3sec). Mesmeric start. Hypnotic beat. Jagged, angular off beats.
Familiar trancey passages punctuated by a guitar part reminiscent of an older
Tool track. Tribal drum beats fudge with a lovely melody and climax with
Maynard

Classic read, thank you  :)

Lead track Vicarious from the new album has had a promo release & is "available".

I can't recommend checking it out highly enough.

I'll now go and:

1) Listen to it again
2) Change my pants (again)
3) Cry 'cos I'll never be that good.

8-)

I can't find it apart from corrupt downloads.   ;)
