QuoteGreat news indeed.
Red Shoes wasn't a bad album at all, in fact most of hers are growers rather than instantly likeable, the most accessible being Hounds of Love but even then, the second side may me hard for some as it's not filled with singles.

She's an acquired taste for sure.

The Red Shoes is good in places, but doesn't compare favourably to albums like The Dreaming or The Sensual World.

Hounds of Love is without doubt the masterpiece of her output to date. Her best collection of individual songs on side 1 and the sublime The Ninth Wave suite on side 2.

I'd just like to remind everyone that my lovely wife has always held more than a passing resemblence to the blessed Kate and so I can live out a number of fantasies that would probably lead me to being locked up if attempted in real life... :P

It is a masterpiece but The Kick Inside & Lionheart are her best albums.

It's good, but as Ian says - not her best.  I think even her best stuff is a little overrated myself.
Lies run sprints, but the truth runs marathons.

Ach, if Dougie were here, he'd tell you himself....

That's a phenomenal song, I must admit.
Lies run sprints, but the truth runs marathons.

Cloud burst, wow and babooshka all my favorites followed by wuthering heights, man with the child in his eyes, running up that hill and rubberband girl.

Love all those, but always felt that Rubberband Girl owed something to Yello's Rubberband Man.  Half of the title, in particular.

I haven't heard that song before so I wouldn't know but I'll go and check it out :)
