Bear in mind that won't be the original line-up - Hugh Cornwell left in 1990.

If you get the chance, go and see Hugh Cornwell, excellent live, plays some of 'his' oldies always, the acoustic version of Golden Brown is sublime.

This is not a really a good DVD..... You should check out their most recent album "Norfolk Coast", it's a real return to form....

Saw them live in Feb and they were brill.... Will also be seeing them again in three weeks at Shepherds Bush Empire..... ;D ;D ;D

So what's it like, I was never impressed with them much after Hugh left. Saw the lead singer perform to an exclusive little gig with Quartly at my old work. He can sing but nothing really lept out apart from the old classics, which were written by Hugh.

Can't beat them doing Sleazy live with the strippers on stage ;)

As far as I am concerned The Stranglers died after hugh Cornwell left.

Used to be a big fan in the late 70s to early 80s, but their output sadly declined.

If you want a good laugh, buy "An evening with Hugh Cornwall"...Its basically a series of outtakes with Hugh taking the utter piss out of audiences, ha has a very savage sense of humour
Ach, if Dougie were here, he'd tell you himself....

kith

I agree completely. Their last album as the stranglers was poor and Hugh wisely left I think as ideas were obviously lacking.

Shame his solo material hasn't gained more success.

I thought the last CD "Norfolk Coast" was pretty damn good....

I also saw two cracking gigs at Shepherds Bush Empire last year.....

Any band with Jean Jaques Burnel and Dave Greenfield is still the Mutts Nuts......

Indeed.  Some bands just don't know when to knock it on the head, unfortunately.
