UPDATE :

I'm thinking on selling my T-bass as I've recently come to learn that I might be able to get my hands on a 5-string Rickenbacker or Wal bass.

Who wants to buy an LED "encrusted" T-bass?

;D

I'm still stuck in late '80's mode I'm afraid. :-[

I have a Washburn B2 and an Aria Pro II.

I've thought about buying something new, but considering I don't play everyday and I'd rather spend money on my Hi-Fi or on new camera gear, I'll probably stick with what I've got.

Also stuck in the late 80's:
- main bass is a Hohner B2V, a Steinerger-licensed instrument. Imagine an original Steinberger L-series, made of wood, 5-string with a wider neck. Professionally upgraded to EMG P/J soapbars - got a sound of its own... but I fall in to the Holdsworth/Rutherford trap - why is it tall guys play the small instruments, and vice versa? :P
- second bass is a Hohner B2AFl, which I picked up real cheap. It was originally a fretless, someone put frets on it, badly, and I ripped them off again, created a higher cutout, and removed the black paint to reveal a nice Ash body. Very light, in weight and sound, with light half-wound strings. Needs an electronics upgrade.
- I own a 10-string Chapman Stick too, but note the use of the word "own" rather than "play"... ::)  One for a virtuoso, which I am far from calling myself.
- I used to have a Trace Elliot combo, but don't any more - took up more space than it was worth, and tsn't necessary for recording - for that I use a Korg Ampworks Bass. If I play live again I'll probably rent an Ashdown. If I could afford it I'd get a SWR MoBass rig - dig those all-analog FX.
- Other gear includes a Akai MPC1000 and a Kawai K5000S synth. I'm a fan of Tracktion sequencer software too.

I won't suggest FleaBay 'cos it's a foregone conclusion that any bass without "Fender" writ upon it will be largely ignored. ::)

Well, I don't like Fender, they're like the McDonalds of musical instruments, so thanks for the tip!
OK: A Ned Steinberger upright bass for

I'm currently using:

Rickenbacker 4003 (Fireglo)

Fender Geddy Lee Sig (I've ended up with two of these)

Through a Behringer Bass V-amp & Asdown ABM amplification.

Cheers
