Had some Bushmills in Ireland, nice enough but nothing on a Highland Park or Dalwhinnie.

Yes, but bog standard Bushmills is the Irish equivalent of Grants, JW Red Label, Famous Grouse et al - not fair to compare it to proper Scotch. There are some single malt Irish whiskies, never tried one myself. I did quite like Jamesons when I was younger.

It was a 10-year old Bushmills I tried, not exactly vintage but probably a little better than the bushmills "original" and bushmills "other one (can't remember the name)" that were available.

Still, I'd drink it again over those ones you mention.

Interesting - I don't like that one. One of the cheaper single malts, and tastes a bit pants to me. Was a bit disappointed to get one in return for a Glenlivet from my sister-in-law's partner at Winterval.

Honestly, I tried to Google this whisky festival, but i didnÃ,´t find out much...is it an annual thing? Is it good/for how long etc.
