Now that is nice, don't think it's as good as it used to be though....

Great choice Fuzzface, well done.  :D

A fabulous standard malt that is just marvellous.

The 18yo one imho is the daddy of the 4 I have so far tried.

12yo - Great stuff, the perfect everyday dram

16yo - dissapointing, only had one nip though so should try it more.

18yo - Superb, great honied expression (ooerr), and just a fabulous incredibly superb tasting whisky.

25yo - Good whisky too, but not as good as the 18yo.

Finished off my bottle of Lagavulin Double Matured last night.

QuoteOf course it's a "malt". If it's made by the same process using the correct ingredients (malted barley, yeast, water) then it's a malt.

What it isn't is "Scotch".

Yes I know but I also think you know where I'm coming from.

A pilgrimage weekend to SMWS needs to be organised again sometime in '08.

The barley that makes Highland Park grows all around my house in Aberdeenshire. The beasts are enjoying the stalks now.  :P

Nice - The Glenlivet is my favourite of the Speysides.

Funny i find it a bit on the weak/watery side for my taste certainly not as robust as say a Scapa or my Highland Park special  ;) but then i've been spoiled by HP other whisky just isn't the same anymore .

Neither of which are Speysides  ;)  Not my favorite whisky area. Sorry Dods     :P
Scapa and HP are both superior to Glenlivet. Those Orcadians must be doing something right. ::)

I got a bottle of Ledaig in Morrisons today for
