I plan on being at The Robin, and hope Iantheholte will be joining me.

Ian won't be going now. He's been suffering from headaches since the start of the year, and as got an appointment with a neurologist soon. He fainted at work the other week and was taken to hospital. They've signed him off work until the end of the month.

Ben

That's bad news Rob I hope it proves to be nothing serious for Ian.

First time seeing La Villa last night and they did not disappoint, loud, agressive and technically accomplished mainly late 70's - early 80's Rush with the odd surprise thrown in. 2 hours 20 minutes with no break but still no time for an encore due it seems to the Flowerpot insisting on a 9.30 start, hopefully you'll get one at Leicester and the Robin.

A pleasure as allways to meet Zed again but baffling that TRon were not there! I hope you are both ok?

Hope Ian is OK. Send him a few good vibes from the fens.

Awww, we decided on a tactical "sensible" night at a few local pubs with our guests from Scotland.

We saw LVS at The Musician and they were superb!
To me you're a Captain, but to a Captain, you're no Captain!

We (myself and Lynda) have decided that the Robin is doable  8)

They were great at The Musician despite the sound engineer not having a baldy notion of what their requirements were. The acoustic guitar stubbornly refused to play through the PA and the guitarist just decided to play without amplication on the acoustic. A hushed and enraptured crowd were treated to a very intimate rendition of "Hope" and it was .. sublime. One of those rare incidents where something going wrong turns into a moment of pure unforgettable bliss. :)

Thankfully, the next evening at The Robin 2 there were no sound issues whatsoever. Utterly brilliant sound and a spellbinding performance! Seriously, these guys play like Rush when they were in their 30's. La Villa and Natural Science at proper album speeds. That sort of thing. Just a joyous celebration of the music of Rush and on a totally different performance level to most if not all of the UK Rush tribute bands.

The performance at The Robin 2 featured probably the best Xanadu intro guitar I have experienced outside of the real thing and i've heard some great performances of that over the last couple of years. This performance however was at a level of delicacy and perfection that I cannot describe in words.

Many goosebump moments provided by LVS's performance at both the Musician and Robin shows. Their namesake track - I closed my eyes and I swear I was at Pink Pop in 1979 wtih Alex with his busted finger but playing perfectly and Geddy with his long hair blowing in the wind, the professor and his handlebar mustache... yes it was THAT good!

Really great to see so many TNMSers turn out. At the Musician - Fuzzy and gig mate who looks like GrizzlY Adams, Zed, Craig and Karen, Nightflyer (aka Jimmy Beggs from NI) plus our happy lot, me, Capt Ron, Dods and Pam. The Robin brought a different crowd, Fuzzy and Lynda, Zoony, Chris Redstar, and our happy lot again.

If you missed these guys this time around, don't let it happen again!

Come back soon guys!

Sorry I missed you guys. I was in Wolverhampton at the Marillion weekend which was also top-banana entertainment.
Ok, I'll join in...

I can only echo what TRon said. These guys are the real deal, and in my opinion, the best RUSH tribute band out there. Always great to catch up with TNMSers as well

Captain Ron

Totally agree Zoony. They are on a different level to the rest. Anyone buy their live in Milan CD? It's really rather good and captures their relentless studio speed vigour in full. There is a very nice bonus studio arrangement of Time Stand Still at the end of the disc too which really bizarrely sounds just like what i'd imagine Pain Of Salvation would sound like if they covered that song. I like it a lot! :)

Did anyone record the Robin 2 show? I desperately want to hear that Xanadu intro performance again. It was magical.

I'm still stunned at how good they are and love the cd. Was great to see heaps of folk we don't get to see very often :)
