I've seen a listing for a Rush tribute playing Dublin on Feb 28th
Is this the UK 2112 outfit or a different one? Anybody know?

I don't know but I know there were plans to create a Dublin based Rush tribute band

Nah it's not the UK 2112, they called it a day years ago
Over thinking, over analyzing separates the body from the mind. Withering my intuition, missing opportunities and I must feed my will to feel my moment drawing way outside the lines.

Thanks for the clarification folks. I just might get along to see them as I am in Belfast that weekend for my brothers annual birthday bash which is the night before. I think it's doable if we fly into Belfast and back from Dublin. :)

It's my wife's 50th that weekend so I doubt I'll be there, unfortunately  :(

Did anyone go to this gig then? Report?

Hi, I know its been over a year but to clarify, the band 2112 are indeed up and running and in Ireland.
We played 5 great shows last year, 2 in the Button Factory in Dublin and one in Dolans in Limerick. We are advertising our forthcoming show on June 18th this year at The Sugar Club in Dublin and hope to be looking into shows outside Ireland in the near future. Although we do not call ourselves a Rush tribute band, as we are 4 members, we are lifelong Rush fanatics and if you look at our facebook pages (2112 Signals Ireland, or 2112 Playing the music of Rush) you will see what we are about !
I hope we can see some of you at the show if you can make it !
Cheers Mick

I went to see them in Limerick in last year and was disappointed. It's a while ago now but they played 2112 and I just kind of wish they hadn't. Singer was standing right back from the mic to sing the bits he was unable to. Loads of stuff missing and very simplified. I'm sorry I can't give a better review but it was quite some time ago now. I wrote about it somewhere though so if I dig it up I will post. I just couldn't be arsed going to their recent gig in Limerick (Nov 19th) so I don't know if they have since improved.
