This is the list (so far) of books I've given to my wife as possibilities for Christmas:

1.  Pete McCarthy: The Road to McCarthy
2.  Robert Rankin: The Antipope
3.  Peter F. Hamilton: Misspent Youth
4.  Terry Pratchett: Night Watch
5.  Clive Barker: Abarat
6.  Brian Herbert, Kevin J. Anderson: The Butlerian Jihad (Legends of Dune)
7.  Ursula K. Leguin: A Wizard of Earthsea
8.  Ursula K. Leguin: The Tombs of Atuan
9.  Ursula K. Leguin: The Farthest Shore
10. Ursula K. Leguin: Tehanu
11. OR Ursula K. Leguin: The Earthsea Quartet instead of 7/8/9/10

Gagging for Arabat.
Standing in the shadows, hiding from the light
Reach out in the darkness, and hold on for your life
All the fear of the future, all the emptiness inside
When the moment of truth arrives, hey, you can run but you can't hide

Ashley

I think I'm getting socks!  :'(

Reg

Socks go as read (like books, ha ha ha).

As do kNicks.
Standing in the shadows, hiding from the light
Reach out in the darkness, and hold on for your life
All the fear of the future, all the emptiness inside
When the moment of truth arrives, hey, you can run but you can't hide

Smart move, so you have 3 more books to add to this list.  :)
Nice list to collect, btw...

Basically, from what I've heard, the trilogy is brilliant, and then she did a fourth book some years later, and its a bit pants.

That's what I thought. She added the book way later to the series.
Probably needed the cash to have her own DSL connection at home.  :P
