Spot on Andrew! I've always been underwhelmed by champers and I've tried most of the 'main' ones - heartburn in a glass for me I'm afraid. As Capt. Ron says, I'd rather have a beer any day!

Underwhelmed is an excellent description for the way that I feel about the bubbly stuff as well...I'll drink it, but I'd rather have a "proper" glass of wine....

Just shared a lovely bottle of Cremant de Alsace and Chicken Madras  with Louise.  Lovely.
You can check out any time you like but you can never leave!

Shouldn't that be Crémant d'Alsace?

I've always found champagne to be disappointing (and it gives me a terrible headache) until I tried the rose variety this Christmas. Couldn't get enough of it!  Wish it was cheaper as I'd be drinking it more often.
