Was out locally last night with a couple of mates, and was very surprised at the price of the beer.

Caledonian 80/-   &  Carlsberg Lager £1.85 a pint.

I don't really notice the price of a pint, but thought that was incredibly cheap.

I know these things are geographical and in Glasgow I'd expect to pay £2.50 - £3.

What are the prices like round your way?

Cheltenham is expensive, especially in the trendy wine bars and brasseries whre you can pay around £3.10 - £3.50 for a bottle eg Bud, Corona etc. Premium lager on draught between £3.50 - £4 a pint >:(

Real ale is 2.60 to 3.10 where I live (Wirral) - haven't a clue about lager

In our village, and the town of Bridgnorth, i've yet to pay £3 a pint, but it won't be long. Lager is between £2-70-£2-90, whilst local ales and bitters range from £2-40-£2-70.

I don't always drink lager - now that I have turned 50 I am starting to drink the old gits drink of real ale and quite enjoying it especially now winter is almost upon us ;) I must update my wardrobe to include some brown corduroy trousers, sandles worn with socks and attempt to grow a ginger beard ;D

No Wetherspoons' then mate?

Actually there are two here now, but they've only recently opened. Still, I'd rather go somewhere better!

I know what you mean mate, cheap beer isn't everything at the end of the day!

Summerland

Morrisons have just put up Erdinger Weissbier from £1.59 to £1.89 a bottle. Outrageous, that nigh on 20% increase.
