Despite not having seen the Stranglers live (I don't care much for their material once Hugh left) I saw Hugh in Glasgow in September. He was superb, with Robert Williams on Drums too. Excellent stuff with a hot looking female bass player.

I have all but 2 of his solo works. Does anyone have Facts & Figures? as it goes for silly money on ebay and it has some of my fave solo singles and b-sides on it.

Went to The Stranglers concert with Phil(Muppet) and his mates tonight In Edinburgh
Went with a bit of trepidation, due to not seeing them since the great Hugh Cornwell left a good few years ago

Absolute top drawer gig from them , the place was rocking  at the HMV picture house on Lothian Road.

Never got Nice n Sleazy , but i'll forgive them as they surprisingly played The Raven , Genetix , Death and night and blood and Curfew to name but a few .
The classics were played as well, with a rousing finish of No More Heroes.

Thanks to Phil and his mates for a good laugh. and good chat over a good few beers :) :)

Good to see you last night Gordon.  It was indeed a good gig, a great mix of of old and really old hits.  Will catch up with you again soon, Blasty  :)

Another magic night with the Stranglers...even without Hugh Cornwell.
Their material post Hugh is average , but songs played from No more Heroes, Black and White and the brilliant Genetix track was played (amazing bass work) ,along with a great rendition of Nice n Sleazy, and true to historical form , they asked a lass up on stage ... but unfortunately she wasn't up to the stripping they expect during this track ;D

Was there with my Stranglers loving mates , and met up with Phil(Muppet ) with some of his chums in the exotic Royal British Legion Dunfermline branch, next to the gig for cheap beers and a guid laugh.

JJ Burnell was reasonably subdued but he was on top form with the bass , and the place was going nuts.
Brilliant place for a concert. the size is just  enough and the acoustics are special.

Top night finished with a fish supper in the mini bus :)

It was a great night.  The guys I was with thought so too.  What did your mates make of a Cornwell-less line up?

Sounds great Gordon, I'd still love to see them do "Walk on By" live
