Tell us here about any book you are reading and just want to do a quick review.

About twelve years ago, one of my brothers gave me Ben Elton's Gridlock as a Christmas present.  Finally started reading it last night ;D

Seems a bit lightweight, so far, but I'm in the mood for some unchallenging, entertaining reading at the moment.  I'll certainly report back if it's any good.

Good man Slim.

Are his books any good?

I am reading The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren.  It is about, well, living on purpose; living intentionally instead of just mindlessly being pushed along through time.

I've just remembered that I have Gridlock somewhere. It isn't mine though - a "borrow" that I never got round to returning, or reading! I'd like to know if it's worth the effort, now you've reminded me of it, before I dig it out and return it to it's rightful owner, 12 years after he loaned it to me! I suspect I won't like it ("Ooh, farty, farty, Mrs. Thatch..." etc.) but you never know...

Gridlock is OK but Stark is much better. :)

Started 'I Married A Communist' by Philip Roth 2 weeks ago.  I thought his books 'A Human Stain' and 'American Pastoral' were truly outstanding.

However, I've given up on 'I Married...'  Got about 40 pages in before it occurred to me I didn't have a clue what was going on and had not been assimilating anything at all.

Very dissapointing.  :-[

I'm going to start White Teeth by Zadie Smith because I too want something unchallenging.  Anybody read that?
Anger is a gift.
