Title: Yurp Tour Merch
Post by: Neillwith2Ls on May 21, 2013, 23:25:13 pm
I know they have everything including the kitchen sink on the Backstage Club website, but was wondering what t-shirts etc would be available at the UK gigs. Surely they just bring a selection over, not the whole lot? Maybe some of the peeps doing Manchester tomorrow can post up some info/photos of what's available. Ta like :)

The t shirts at Toronto were appalling quality.  Complete tat that looked liked it had been designed for someone GCSE art project.

Their t-shirts used to be quite good, as well.

Oh maybe I should stick with my R30 one then (not the crappy dragon one thank gawd), and be done with it. I do hate a rubbish design, and some of those S&A/Time Machine shirts look shocking - are the new ones that bad too?

They'll make a fortune then, most Rush fans have no taste in clothing! ;D

I agree with Hass. The T-shirts in Toronto were of appalling quality. Expect to pay £30 for a T-shirt.

Have to say from what I've seen at Backstage the current album/tour themed shirts look very bad - it my be the first tour I've seen them on where I don't buy anything. Probably wait until Sheffield anyway as maybe cheaper than London.

I thought the t-shirts were much better than the Time Machine Tour ones.  And the tour jacket is gorgeous.  And VERY EXPENSIVE

The t shirt I caught last night is very nice actually - thick, soft, quality cotton with a good print.

I got a nice bootleg T-shirt outside for a tenner, Fruit Of The Loom, good quality cotton.

The stuff on sale last night was exactly what is available on the backstage club. I had already seen this and wasn't impressed. I went to the merchandise stand expecting to see a load of new and decent designs but there wasn't anything different or new.

The only one I liked was the red one with the bee on it that was available last year.

I noticed the baseball jerseys are for sale at £75... It amazes me that someone would pay that much for a t-shirt.

I never bought a tour book this time, perhaps it's an age thing?! I'll probably get one from the backstage club when I order some more shirts, but I wasn't all that impressed with the latest offerings tbh  :-\.

How much are they?

Last one I bought was R30, which got paint on it.
I will be wearing my GUP shirt tonight.

Might buy a new one, but probably won't.

Bearing in mind the demographic for Rush nowadays, I wonder how many posters they sold.

Tour book - £15

I was in a queue of people who all declaimed "How Much!?!?!?" on fnding out the price.
I told the young lad selling the programmes a bit of Rush history, as he'd never heard of them and was surpsrised an unknown band could draw such a crowd, I told him that they;d been going since the year dot and had been in terminal decline since 1980 :)

I applaud your wit if not your sentiment.  ;D

I'm heading to Sheffield later - where's the meet up?

I think the tour books have been £15 for the last 4 tours!

I think the merch has been pretty poor for the tour.  Its really much of a muchness now with tour tshirts I think.  I noticed that the red T is a UK/Europe shirt which hasnt been done for some time.  This is the first time I havent bought anything!

You must've ordered that one online  ;)

The tourbook was a fiver in 1988 so at least it's not gone up by as much as the tickets!

Might just get one CA tour shirt from the backstage club, but noticed they've got some good old album shirts at the very reasonable price of $19-99, which works out at £12-74 each. I need to get 3 or 4 to stock my supply up.

Didn't buy anything this time round...... got about six billion t-shirts and the designs this time were just 'meh'... plus the cost is really an issue these days!!

Me neither Zooners, but HMRC have become really keen in these times of austerity to do everything by the book.

I got hit for £18.00 after buying something off ebay from California. Got a postcard through the door about 3 weeks after it was posted saying it's at the post office and you owe us £18.00.

They wouldn't hand it over until I'd paid. It's not as I'm going to run off with it they know where I live!
