well its been a helluva long time but I believe it went something like..."Scuse me love you must be lost...nobody as gorgeous as you ever comes into this pub deliberately"

Not a comedian obviously. Im trying to get into Information Management/Librarianship long term but I've been mostly doing security and driving jobs to make ends meet since forever, well since I graduated anyway

My Father-in Law passed away yesterday. He had been suffering from dementia for the last 3 years. In January he was admitted to specialist demetia care home. During the last couple of months we noticed a change for the worst every time we saw him. It was heartbreaking to see a once strong man deteriorate so quickly.

RIP Ken Duerden  :'(

I know this won't mean anything to anyone but I lost a hero of mine today, or found out about his death anyway. He actually died on October 04th from a heart attack, age 91.

General GÃÆ'Ã,¼nther Rall, Luftwaffe pilot and ace.

Briefly, General Rall was the third highest scoring fighter pilot in history with 275 victories. He was shot down 8 times and badly injured on several occasions including breaking his back in three places, being scalped and having a thumb shot off...

I met him at Duxford a few years ago and he was the nicest person I have ever met in my life. Totally unassuming, engaging, polite and a very intelligent man. When I explained that my father was a soldier in the German army - on the Russsian front - during WWII (where Rall flew most of his missions), and how he often told me stories of seeing the Luftwaffe pilots engaging the Russian pilots overhead, Herr Rall took great interest in this and we spoke about it for quite a while. After coming to the conclusion that they fought in roughly the same areas, he joked how he had probably seen my father down below and how my father had probably watched him zooming around the skies above. He told me how he and his fellow pilots would buzz the German soldiers and do barrel-roll type manoeuvres in the hope of boosting moral. He openly admitted to having the utmost respect for the foot soldiers as they were "far braver" than him and his fellow pilots. "They suffered a lot more than we did, much more. Yes, our camps were basic, but at least I had a bed to sleep on. Many soldiers, like your father, didn't. I'm not sure I could have gone through what they did, especially during those cold cold winters. Yes, I, we had much respect for those men. I hope you are proud of him?" Of course I am, but that's another story...
He asked how I had become interested in aircraft, and I explained that the bug hit me when I was around 6 or 7 years old. I spoke of how WWII had always fascinated me and as I grew older my interest became more profound. He laughed when I explained how obsessed I had become with WWII piston aircraft and how I longed to take a flight in a B-17, a P-51 Mustang or even an Me109. "If I could make your dream come true I would, but sadly this isn't possible. Not in a 109 anyway." Much laughter and a wink ensued. He seemed genuinely interested in my passion and was pleased that my interest (in the Luftwaffe and the 8th USAAF) wasn't just about the aircraft, but that I took a great interest in the human sacrifices made, on all sides, during WWII. He shook my hand when I told him that I like to visit war cemetries to pay my respects, and how humbling it is when I do. "It is always nice to hear of people like yourself who haven't forgotten the men who didn't return home to their families. Always keep their memories alive. I fear more and more people are forgetting these days." He looked genuinely sad when he said that. Brought a lump to my throat if I'm honest.

I won't ever forget how warm and friendly this man was; it was like I had known him for years. He even asked to be remembered to my father, although they never met... A great and honourable man.

I will miss this man immensely. :( :'( :'(

R.I.P Herr Rall - gone but never forgotten.

I sat and watched the memorial too this morning and made sure that my kids observed the 2 minute silence. I'll second Bisto's comments in that it was a very moving experience, especially in the light of recent events. You'd think that in this day and age the concept of war would go out of fashion... Things like this serve as a reminder to us all that we still have some way to go before we can truly call ourselves civilised.

I was just going to my car with my daughter when the local Lifeboat Maroon was sent up to mark 11am yesterday. Myself and my daughter (10) sat in the car in silence until the second Maroon went off..... I was really proud of her and said so... she said that they were studying the world wars and that her teachers had told them about Rememberance Sunday and she was really happy not to have forgotten it because so may people died to protect our freedom..... THAT was so great to hear it brought a FURTHER tear to my eye...... next time I see her History teacher I will shake his hand!

I'm working in my company's Accrington office today. About an hour ago there was a loud bang, like an explosion. A car had hit our office building at some speed, killing a mother and baby who were walking along the street. The driver is dead and paramedics have been trying to revive the passenger. The whole area has been sealed off and is crawling with police, fire engines and ambulances. The air ambulance has landed in the street.

I saw the mother and baby. Truly upsetting.

Life can be very cruel.

Apparantly the baby was killed and the mother is seriously injured. The driver of the car was an old man who possibly had a heart attack while driving. He's died too.

This is terrible for all concerned but I fear this is a tragedy that might have been avoidable if, as seems likely, it was due to the age and health of the driver. There are already too many senseless fatalities due to careless and dangerous driving but there is nothing that the law can do stop individual incidents occuring once someone is behind the wheel. Of course a heart attack or a Stroke can happen at any age but they are much more common in the elderly. I wonder how many lives could be saved by introducing compulsory annual medical testing alongside compulsory retesting of any driver (at their own expense) at the age of 60?

RIP to all who lost their lives

For what it's worth Andrew, the accident that I referred to in response to ARH's announcement was an elderly guy who 'died' at the wheel and wiped out 5 others in a head on crash. I imagine this is a big issue with road safety tbh, very sad all the same.

Why doesn't the Gov't of the day do something about it then? What are the Politicians scared of, a backlash from the Grey Vote? The cost of the beaurocracy could be absorbed by those being tested. The saving of lives is more important than the loss of social life to those not medically fit enough to drive.

What an absolutely horrendous tradegy. So sorry to read this and hope you are ok Andy.

I agree with Bisto's earlier post re testing the elderly for both health and competence behind the wheel of a car. It is a lethal weapon in the wrong hands and this tragedy is yet another example of this.

Difficult to confirm with any certainty - such is the nature of the beast - but it looks like Louise's MS has moved on rather rapidly to the Secondary Progressive stage..... Suppose we weren't that surprised really, knowing how things have been the last few months but still genuinely upsetting for both of us.

Hope you folks don't mind me bearing my soul here - sometimes feel a bit uncomfortable doing it (am I just seeking easy sympathy?) but I need to let my mates know, and you're all my mates I think....

It's almost imperceptible, Lou's decline, but there has been absolutely no improvement, no remission, for a year now and that seems to mean, to the experts, Progressive MS.

So that's it then....

A car ploughed into some market stalls under the town hall in Bridgnorth at lunchtime, which is where i work, and 7 miles from my home. 14 people were injured, 4 seriously, and a woman in her 70s suffered a cardiac arrest after witnessing it, but at least she was revived. My workmates wife was on the scene, and tended to a lady who had a bad leg injury. She said it was a terrible scene, bodies everywhere and 4 ambulances.

Found out that a girl I went to school with and was friends with when I was growing up was having life support turned off yesterday... She was a First Class Honours Student at Oxford and a lecturer. Apparently she suffered a long and agonisingly slow illness that robbed her of her independence and tormented her family. I'm just so glad she's at peace now.... It upset me deeply on top of a shit time at work and basically having no cash and having to refuse a Rush Ticket for 3rd September in the USA....... Bollocks!!!!

Yeah, I know what you mean Jon.......but thanks again ;)

Quite surprised to see it was back in April that the diagnosus changed - lets face it, you just get on with life best you can (which is so much easier for me than Louise). Nothing much has changed really - though we had a fantastic break in Lanzarote for two weeks where Lou was almost symptom free - it was quite bizarre! Within a couple of days of being home it had all gone tits up again......

Can you think of anything different in Lanzarote other than 'being away' that might has eased the symptoms - diet, water, etc? Just wondering mate? Take care, both of you and I'll see you at RAH.

The thing is, through the MS Society forums, it's clear that many others have had the same experience! I don't think it's diet - the change was almost iinstant. At Gatwick Lou could barely walk (she was having a particularly bad day), when we were walking through the terminal in Arrecife it was like, "Oh, hang on, I can walk!".

The climate has to be the best bet I would think - I'm no Meteorologist but I imagine it's a much 'drier' atmosphere, less 'damp'? May be it's that - though I'm sure that the simple fact we were getting away from all the shit here must have helped......at the end of the day it's neurological so it surely has to tie in with that?

They're joking on the forum's about getting funding to spend 6 months in Lanxarote as an MS group to 'Study' the effect it has on the symptoms!

Not Good, sorry to hear that.

I knew I shouldn't have spoken so soon, things aren't quite as bad for my sister as feared. Still not good, but because my old mother was champion bed maker for the Derbyshire St. John's in 1954 she thinks she's a qualified medical practitioner, and she'd managed to read too much into what she heard.

A message from Graham Barnell's wife in reply to my stuipidly happy comment on Facebook after I landed some decent tickets for Rush at Birmingham. For those who don't remember or are new here Graham (Kidgloves, I think? on tnms) lost his battle - and it was a hell of a battle - against Cancer just over a year ago. He had a successful Stem Cell transplant but he was severely weakened by all he had been through and died from a fungal lung infection. I actually only met him a couple of times (they lived in Australia) but he was a top, top man and a massive PT and Rush fan............

Anyway, Sam's simple comment on my status was, "Graham would be envious :) "

Made me smile and shed a tear at the same time.....

Blood absolutely everywhere (I know a little goes a long way etc)

Doctors said if it does not stop by tomorrow then will need to go to the Kids hospital for it cauterising

Poor little thing

Cheers Bisto. Good news is that we're back together again, bad news is the cause of the split was down to her having post-operative depression. Had her gall bladder out during the summer and her sense of self and worth have slowly been draining away and she hit out at the closest person ie Me. So we've got a bit of a struggle ahead of us now, but I love her so I'm willing to put in the effort.

A bloke i know from our village, and who i worked with back in the 80s and 90s, was found dead at his home last night. He was just 50. He was a big drinker and smoker, but must have been ill as he hadn't had a drink this year. He was a harmless loner who'd been on his own since his mom died about 3 years ago, and i find it sad that he died alone at this time of the year. RIP Kev.

Thanks mate. I'm quite surprised he lived as long as he did really though, he used to drink between 60-75 pints a week, and get some sort of fags down him as well. He lost 29 years service from where he worked when he got caught smoking and was sacked.

Actually Chris, i was told earlier that he wasn't 50 until april. He never used to go out until 10-45pm, and would drink 5 pints before the last orders bell went at 11, and then he would order another 4, so he was having 9 pints in 40 minutes most of the time. It's no wonder he never lasted long mate!

Spending the night in A & E with young Dudley. In trying to impress his brothers/sister, he decided to climb to the top of a bookcase (this is quite normal for him, although not encouraged) and somersault onto the couch. In misjudging said somersault, landed on radiator and split the back of his head open like a clown's mouth.   :'(

Whillst gluing his head back together the nurse, who had the most shaky hands I've ever seen, managed to glue her latex glove to his head, which then had to be 'shaved off'.  ::)

He has to stay in overnight as he has mild concussion. I've just finished clearing what resembled a murder scene back home.  :o

I know he'll be O.K. because:

1. I've survived many incidents like this, and
2. He showed signs of genuine recovery when, after telling him how brave he'd been, he asked if he'd be getting a present for his bravery.

Above all, I'm having another minor op on my back tomorrow during which, as I have been warned by the Consultant, I will experience 'severe pain' as I will be awake throughout the procedure. Safe to say, I've been dreading it all day, but seeing Duds tonight has made me realise what a tart I've become. I'm going to follow his lead and be tough, be a man, be brave, have no fear and, most importantly, hope to be rewarded at the end of it with a well deserved present.  :)

Point 1

Not a chance my friend. I'll be there, although I might need taking to the toilet.  :o Anyhow, what's this about a piss up? I thought that the purpose of Friday was to assemble the finest minds in the North West construction industry - the creme de la creme - plus me and you. Could holding this assembly in a pub on a Friday afternoon, round the corner from your house, be a pre-meditated excuse for a piss up?  ::)

Point 2

Good news. Dudley is on the mend. He's almost back to abnormal.  :P

Point 3

Op went well thanks. As soon as I get the feeling back in my twitching left leg and my facial flushing subsides, caused by steroid injections, I'll be fine. At the moment I look like the Ribena Man on crack with a wrongly fitted prosthetic leg.  8)

See you Friday.

After a difficult month of heart and soul searching, Mrs B and I have decided to 'spend some time apart' (I think that's what she said we are doing  :-\). This has been driven mainly by her desire to find a more fulfilling life, although ultimately it's a consequence of two highly independent people living in each other's pockets for the last ten years. For my part, I have tried everything I can to avoid this situation, as it's the last thing I wanted to happen.

We remain the closest of friends and share the same determination to ensure that our children, who I adore beyond measure, enjoy the same love and attention we have both given them in the past. This will be my sole purpose in the coming months.

I won't pretend to be anything other than devastated by this, although having been dragged up to be tougher than tough itself, I know I'll be fine and there's definitely no need to hide the razor blades. I will be leaving my 'home' at the end of the month and setting up in a semi-bachelor pad a couple of miles away. I'll be leaving with a heavy heart and mind full of happy memories.

On the plus side........................I'll be leaving with ALL my clothes and belongings, three stereos and two drum kits. I'd like you all to say a prayer for my new neighbours, although I'm not even sure that Christ himself will be able to help them.

My Dad always used to say to me that your life was like a book. As one chapter ends, you turn the page and another one begins. As always, he was right. I think that this is going to be a particularly heavy page to turn, but here we go.   :( ::)

Left ankle gave way and my foot slipped off the step as I was descending the stairs of a double decker. I was carrying my laptop in my backpack and my handbag in my right hand and couldn't stop my fall. The whole foot bended horribly under me and I landed heavily on my tailbone. What a shock. Ibuprofen and gel have taken the edge off, but it's going to be a slow weekend for me. :(

I work for a placement agency .......... I requested a day off before the required 2 week notice, they said No more annual leave requests for April (or May). Having previous experience of being badly let down before and thinking laterally I asked the roster clerk of the company that my agency placed me with if he knew of anyone who might want to cover my shift. He managed to find someone; "Great!" I thought, "I get a day off, someone else gets some overtime, the shift gets covered ..... everybody is happy!" I then call the agency to let them know the good news and they go ballistic. wtf?

I'm going to ask her wft she's playing at and give her a piece of my mind at the same time, and see where we go from there.

I'm not ready to give up on this yet cause as far as I'm concerned she's "the one" (I was even entertaining ideas of proposal at the end of the year) but if we're not both reading from the same hymn sheet then I'm calling it quits.

Been to see my mom in hospital earlier on, she was discovered collapsed on her kitchen floor this morning. She's had a bad stroke, and still hadn't come around when i left. They told me because of her age, and the severity of it, to expect the worst, with the next 24 hours crucial. She was only at my house last night, and was fine when i took her home at 7-30. Absolutely gutted  :'(.

Oh Zoony, so sorry to hear your bad news. Take comfort in the fact that she didn't suffer a long, difficult illness which could have diluted the memories you have of a fit, healthy woman! Celebrate her life and take heart from the fact that your Mum was around for your kids. I lost my Mum in '94 and my eldest wasn't born until '98. Your brood probably brought her great joy and vice versa. It sounds like you have a great, close, supportive family and at times like these there's nothing more important!! Love & Hugs to all of you x

Today is the 20th anniversary of my younger brother's death. He was a big Rush fan and we went to many Rush and other rock concerts together in the late 70's and 80's. Unbeknown to me or my parents, he was suffering from depression, the severity of which was not picked up by us. On the evening of the 14th May 1991 he took his own life - he was just 25 years old and my only sibling.

I miss him very much. :'(

Well, as predicted she made excuses over every symptom but after a few hours of it sinking in she acknowledged she might have some kind of problem. Would be surprised if she actually seeks treatment for it though. She seems to want to blame all her problems on everything else, specifically me.

Well after a few weeks of battling it out me and my girlfriend have ended our 3 and a half year relationship. I'm totally heartbroken but her heart just isn't in it anymore and there's nothing I can do about it.

The irony being that we started our relationship the day after a Rush gig in Newcastle, and that's also how it ended.

Been a while since I've posted anything seriously on here. As some of you know I was rather harshly dumped at the end of May just a week after she asked me to move in with her, been going through utter hell trying to get my head around it all (first girlfriend and the thoughts of a lost future etc), I've relapsed into depression and to cap it all off I've been told tonight that unless a miracle happens within the next 48 hours my company is going to be liquidated and I'll be redundant by Friday. When it rains it pours...

Tbh and my words may seem a little harsh so sorry but 'relapsed into depression' seems to me you've kind of talked yourself into rather than it's overtaken you.Sorry but to me sounds like you're more really feeling for yourself and allowing yourself to be drawn into a depressive state. I lived with a seriously depressed person and they fought it all the way (I think) and in the end it did just overtake them and ended in suicide. I realise things happen in people's lives and if the same thing happened in another person's life it will affect them differently. What seems trivial to one person is the end of the world to another. But still, I'm depressed. yeah I'm fat so I'll go on a diet what are you going to do about being depressed? If I can't be arsed to go on a diet then I'll stop moaning about being fat.

It isn't a very positive way of looking at things and god knows it is hard to look at the bright side however small, in anyway shape or form sometimes but you have to , cos what's the alternative? Tons of things have happened in the past enough to make me 'depressed' but I feel it coming on, I feel the black shadow creeping up behind me, Churchill called it 'his black dog'. I normally do things to fight it off, make a very conscious decision to not go down that path.

As for 'thoughts of a lost future etc' now that is a depressing way of looking at things. it's like what if in history, what a fecking waste of time, didn't happen, move on. You can't live life looking at it like that, well you can but then you'll be a miserable, depressed moaning windbag.

Richard as much as I sympathise with your horrible circumstances, if you can, it would be a hell of a lot better for your mental health and your future prospects if you can take a proactive approach to this now rather than hand over responsibility for your recovery to health care professionals somewhere down the line. You really don't want to be relying on antidepressants if you can avoid taking them they can set you back years believe me! Wish you all the best! Throw yourself into looking for a new job, volunteer maybe (mate of mine's daughter did with an Overseas development Charity and it changed her life) take as many opportunities as you can to go out with your mates and have a good time. Plenty of free interesting stuff to do that will get you out of the house and focusing on the positive! Try not to be alone all day especially if your job does come to an end. Good luck Richard! :)

Ouch Wullie...... That puts some perspective on things.... Think Richard, it could all be a whole lot worse. If you scratch the surface on most people who 'seem' ok on the surface there's a ton of stuff bubbling under that could blow your mind. We all fight our little fights and it sounds to me like you have decided to be the VICTIM of all that is happening to you..... Your girlfriend messed your head up (my ex messed mine up years ago but that's what they do!!) and now, circumstance is making it look like you will be out of work soon. The two incidents are completely unrelated and you need to take Bisto's advice and be proactive. A change is as good as a rest they say so perhaps you need to move on physically and get a new challenge. I'm a letting agent so I can help with accommodation if you wanted to pitch up in my manor in East Kent. I believe you work in Theatres, the Marlowe in canterbury is just coming to the end of a £25m refurb. there could be work there, I don't know..... open up your horizons and move on buddy!!!!  :)   Sorry if I sound a tad harsh but I speak as someone with far more than my fair share of crap on my plate on a daily basis!!!!

Right I've had an absolute shitty month (or 4 months) - Both personally and also with a very close friend and another an ex-work colleague of my other arf

We have had desperately bad news from a couple in the Cayman Islands - we have spent a couple of holidays over there and the last time they organised our marriage (massivley on a whim - from a phone call to the wedding "department" on 26th December to us being married on the 29th with stretch limo, photographer, flowers, best table at the best restaurant on the island, took us both to shop for wedding rings and organised hair styling - obv for the mrs rather than me).  Basically they did absolutely everything!!

they already have one child and were expecting twins.  Unfortunately Amanda went into labour at nearly 25 weeks.  I'm C&P'g the rest as i still get emotional "typing" about it.

Freddie arrived at 1-25am on Thursday 14th July. His little brother Jake came along at 1.35am. They had reached 24 weeks and 6 days gestational age. Unfortunately they had been suffering from something called Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS) that sometimes affects identical twins. This is a condition where one twin takes more of the blood than the other and can cause circulation and fluid level problems in both twins.

A couple of weeks before they were born, something happened which caused bleeding in Jake's brain. We had 13 precious hours with him before he became too sick to survive. We love you and will never forget you Jake - you were beautiful.

Freddy was a little bigger and stronger at birth and is hanging in there. He's our little fighter and we're riding the roller coaster of the NICU together. We love you too Freddy - keep making us proud.

Firstly, let me say that Freddy is a beautiful, lively and responsive little boy who shows us on every nappy change that he is a fighter. He is in an amazing hospital that has the technology and doctors to give him the best chance possible and has had tremendous support from friends and family, words cannot describe our appreciation for the kind words and more we have received over the last two weeks, much love to you all.

With premature babies, the issues are always brain, heart and lungs. Freddy has had an additional problem with his left leg, an unfortunate consequence of the twin to twin transfusion going on during pregnancy. A noticeable mark on his leg at birth became more pronounced and scans showed that there was no blood flow below his mid thigh. His leg effectively died and nothing could be done. Difficult to describe this as, parents out there will appreciate, we would gladly sacrifice our own leg if it meant he kept his. We are comforted by the fact that babies are highly adaptable and the surgeons are positive about him being able to use prosthetics.

Premature babies are susceptible to bleeding on the brain due to their fragile blood vessels and Freddy's last scan unfortunately showed some bleeding. The severity of brain bleeds in premature babies are graded from 1 to 4, Freddy is a 2, it could disperse but it could also worsen and create further problems. He has an all important scan on Friday, we are crossing everything.

His PDA valve in his heart, which in a full term pregnancy will normally close on birth, is still open. Scans have shown that this is closing gradually and the hope is that it will continue and surgery will not be required. Further scans to follow this week.

His lungs continue to mature, he is on a ventilator still, his oxygen requirements continue to be tweaked by the doctors, the aim is to wean him off the machine. A few nights ago, he pulled the ventilator tube out, nurse quickly reinserted, no great panic, we love him for doing that but hope he refrains from doing it in future!

His weight continues to improve, hes 870g or 1lb 14oz. Still tiny but full of movement, he is trying to open his eyes and is peeing like a racehorse, a good sign.

Once again, many thanks to all for your support, we love you all.

In fact I'm only going to do this one today.

Spud- we had a little girl in 2007 - she was born at 24 weeks and 5 days - she certainly went through the mill too - she went through many of the same things that you've written about just there - she too is a little fighter and slowly but surely she became bigger and stronger and although she is slightly behind in her physical development, there are no long term issues (touch wood).  She's 4 in September and the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.

Positive viibes to your friends and their son.

Well as someone who since losing their job in 2008 spent a total of 9 months doing contract (read temp IT monkey) work and 18 months signing on and was on the brink of repossession I certainly think that unemployment isn't better. Next week marks my 1st year back in full time employment. Like Simsy the money isn't what I'd like but heck it's only 15 mins by car in the opposite direction of all the other commuters (but that's Rochdale for you :P). I'd rather be working than be on the dole anyday! And for anyone who's facing uncertain times due to redundancy etc, keep on slugging away and something will eventually turn up  ;)

She was very well loved and respected.

a lad that used to work with the wife a couple of years back that we stay in touch with has just died after a short illlnes with pancreatic cancer - he was 38.  He had a young family as well.  He did quite a bit of standup and comedy wiring with another couple of lads.

Started with back pain about 4 months ago that wouldn't go away and he was diagnosed 2 months ago.  Shocking.  got his funeral next Thursday which i can see being the 2 extremes of funny and upsetting.

On Sunday I was told that one of my best mates from age 8 up to around 20 had passed on, he was 47 years young. He was a drug addict, started when he was 25 :o during his first time in prison, and he was on a metadon-program now, when his kidneys let him down.

I guess he was going down that path from the day he was born. He was just a wild child, and this was one of the reasons out paths divided. I have only seen him whenever I have ran into him downtown, not very often the last years.

I am going to his funeral tomorrow, I suspect quite a turnout of old friends, he knew "everyone". Despite my lack of religious belief, I am sure he has gone to a better place.

Suddenly, you were gone, from all the lives you left your mark upon

A client of mine passed away last night, only 37. We finished the staircase in his new house yesterday, deveryone involved put in a great effort to get the house finished, but sadly, his first night in the house will be in a coffin.
Brain tumour, went to the states for some new type of treatment, but he came back with just weeks to live.
Sad , sure makes me feel like my worries are so trivial..
RIP Keith.

Anne had a fall on her way to work this morning and was taken to A&E by ambulance. I had to leave work and make a dash to the hospital. We just got home, she has had two stitches in her forehead and has slightly aggravated her bad knee but is otherwise fine. Strict orders - no photos at Christmas this year !

Upset of Christmas eve really but I havnt been near a computer for the last few days.

My cat died during the night.  He has been with me for 13 years since he was a kitten.  Sadly he has been very ill for the last couple of months with some sort of bone marrow/anemia complaint.  I knew he was on the way out but he deteriorated very quickly in the last few days and died in his sleep.  Not the best way to start christmas.

A 42 year old colleague collapsed and died last night while playing 5-a-sides with a bunch of workmates.  Despite some of the guys best efforts at CPR he was beyond help.  Gone in an instant.

He leave a wife and 4 kids, aged 6, 3, 2 & 3 months.
