watching Arsenal is not a fun experience these days. Yes City are a better side than us but we didn't come close to making a game of it. Embarrassing at the back and toothless up front. Very little creativity and poor defensive discipline in midfield. Keepers are not much cop either. This can't go on.

Out for the fifth time this week :)
I'll wait for longer evenings and better weather before trying that again!
Did a very similar ride out to Friday's, but took a more gentle ride to the tops today. I really didn't fancy anything too steep today although I did set my best ever time on the Col de Westhouses - the Giant of Derbyshire - all 51 feet rise of it. didn't even have a tail wind either. The wind was biting up on the tops today, but the views were fantastic, I could see down into the Derwent valley and across to the Western moors, then over to the Trent Valley, with the outskirts of Sheffield between the two.

Today’s ride was marred by my new brake blocks, thought the headwind was strong but it was a mixture of headwind and the new blocks rubbing that made the first half of my ride exhausting. After a few kicks, twists of cables, jiggling of the clamps and fine swearing they eased off and I could cycle free from the shackles. Plenty of riders out, couple of buzzards and lots of seagulls. 3 rides this week, most for this year.

Out today in the biting wind, Garmin stopped working after about 5 miles just shutting down (i recharged the battery when i got home but it seemed to be full, so not sure what happened). Had to stop and use the Strava app on my phone for what was left of the ride. Ice patches higher up and i noted my brake pads were worn very far down (winter riding i guess). Clear skies and a lack of birdlife today, replaced my brake blocks when i got home.

A new three-hour programme now on BBC Four looking back at The Old Grey Whistle Test.  Just marvellous.  :D
