Any good, the last few (maybe 4 or 5) have been put away never to see the light of day after a couple of weeks...

It’s ok.  Some decent tunes, a few average ones.  Most likely will get no further listens after the gig a week on Monday.

Bought tickets for both arctic monkeys Newcastle shows yesterday and went back and listened to their 5 records - and the contrast with the MSP was stark.  An incredible feat having 5 superb records on the bounce that show a clear and obvious creative and artistic arc - musically there’s not a lot in common, but it made me think of The Police - started off all spiky and punky ended up with the sophisticated brilliance of Synchronicity - a perfect career over the course of 5 records.

For me, AM now belong in the pantheon of all time greatest rock bands.  Seriously...

Sorry, you were asking about MSP... ::) ;D

Mmmm, unconvinced by AMs myself....I liked the last one.

Manics started brilliantly, re-strated even better (controversial!) and faded away after This is my Truth....

As you say there have been some great singles over the years and the singles I've heard from the new one are fine enough....

If I'm reaching for a Manics disc its likely to be EMG, TIMT or National Treasures...

The Holy Bible and Everything Must Go are the essentials, I think.  I thought TIMY was dull and thats where I tuned out...

I think I only listened to the Steve McQueen acoustic disc once. Quite enjoyed it but somehow didn't want to repeat the exercise.

I can assure you I don't haha.

I hear this a lot these days though. I am fully aware that the niche genres of music I like these days are alien to 95% of TNMSers, and thus most of you are unlikely to have heard of any of the bands I listen to. I remember the same thing happening when CQ was releasing his early compilations 10 years ago - it would be a miracle if I'd heard of any of the bands on his 20 track CDs.  ;D

On a semi-serious note, I do try to state when I post in this thread which of the stuff I listen to (and release on my label) might be of interest to people on TNMS. Grave Lines are not one of those bands.

I would encourage you to seek out the new Boss Keloid album "Melted On The Inch" when it is released next week. Yes, they are friends of mine. They signed with Holy Roar Records earlier this year and this new record has been garnering rave reviews (Prog Magazine - "An extraordinary piece of work"; Prog Metal Madness - "A tightly honed and polished masterpiece"; 2 page glowing feature in Metal Hammer, included in The Guardian newspaper's top 50 April tracks, Kerrang! artist of the month......)

It's modern prog. Tunes, singing, melodies, time changes, riffs. Give it a listen here:
