27/3/18 - Steven Wilson, RAH. First half & AS,BNH Stunning. Took a while to get going again. 8/10

Whats AS and BNH, Bez?

I've amended my score to 9/10  :-*   On further thought, it didn't quite scale the heights required for a 10...

A few further thoughts on the SW shows.

The choice of PT songs was generally "safe to disppointing"

The track that ends the second set was featured on the last tour, as was the "single"

The IA tracks were great and a definite highlight (apart fromt the encore one which again has featured recently)

Good to hear Even Less in guitar & vocal mode. The six song "opening set" on Wednesday was excellent.

The cycnic in me recognises that most feature on the re-released "Arriving Somewhere..." DVD / CD set  ::)

Permanating is a pop song. Its OK, but not great. You wrote it, so that gives you the right to play it. I don't need to hear you go on about for 5 minutes about how wide your musical taste is. Prick.

;D
In Gateshead, he mentioned something about not being concerned about alienating the 'old guys who wear King Crimson T-shirts'.  A quick scan of the front show revealed...an old guy in a King Crimson T-shirt.  Thought that was a bit uncalled for.

Totally agree with your comment there Bez, he can be a pompous, pretentious bellend at times can't he? 😂

As I pointed out to the lady next to me at last night's show, the length of his waffling on the subject was longer than the tune itself!
If he wants to be truly poptastic, why not let the Beggsmeister launch in to 'Too shy' 😉

I don't need to advertise that I have all XTC's albums on vinyl (apart from Drums and Wires which I bought on cassette ), all purchased on release or thereabouts.

Having said that, I'm going again tonight - let's see what he makes of my Half Man Half Biscuit t-shirt eh? .😁
