Loocs hellishly cold this weekend, think Zwift will be getting my custom yet again.
It was on the cool side, but not hellishly cold. Some of the best rides I've had have been when I've wrapped up warm and gone out for a spin in the cold. Makes you feel good to be alive!
It helps if its sunny though. It was grey and dreary today and although the overnight snow had gone from my locality I wasn't sure what the tops would be like and because of the low cloud you couldn't see a thing. I assumed that they would be snowy so I kept to the local area, doing a loop round West, Middle and Nether Handley. There was lying snow above about 650ft so it would have been quite thick on the tops. Probably.
Even though I didn't make the Peak District, I still managed more climbing on a ride than I'd done this year. It's not the best place for flat roads is North Derbyshire. so I still got in 500ft climbs.
The only birds I saw were Wood Pigeons. When I go up to the tops, I see lots of flocks of finchy things, but they never stay around long enough to be identified.

First time out this year, spent ages getting over there flu I had at Xmas. Was shocked at how weak my legs were, felt like a newbie. The local bike shop had done a good job on my bike cables and gear changing was smooth. Saw an Egret.

Aye, a row of cheap looking boxes running the touch line; reminds me of Bradford City’s old “chicken run” shed, which is now unrecognisable.

The old "Bobbers" stand which was converted into boxes many moons ago.....named after the old fellas who used to bob up and down whenever there was something exciting on the pitch  ;D

An up and down couple of weeks for the Hatters, we lost our manager to Stoke of all teams, but finally got planning permission for our new ground (anyone who has been to the Oak Road end of Kennilworth Road will understand how desperately the club need this. The seats in the main stand were bought second hand from Kempton race track in tbe 1920s....

Sorry to hear that, Rufus.  Although I’d never want one, I do have an affinity for dogs and appreciate how hard it must be when one goes.  At least he isn’t suffering now.

Upset is an understatement.

I had to put Blaize my beautiful Hungarian Wirehaired Vizsla down last night.

Vet did not understand it. She said he would not last the night and I could not bear for him to die alone.

She thought he had eaten something poisonous. His body completely shut down.

His soul was touched by God he was so lovely. He is now hunting in the stars.

The new Thunder acoustic thing.

Not bad, but it’s a one time listen kind of thing.
