Art of Rush - European Edition
« on: September 12, 2017, 08:48:25 AM »

The Art of Rush Hugh Syme Book is being launched as a European edition at 3pm today - I guess in response to European fans wanting to own it but avoid heavy shipment costs and duty, not sure of the price as yet - sort of book I wouldn't mind owning but have a feeling it's going to be a lot..... :-\

£30 to deliver, presumably its being shipped from Canada, so import duty still to pay.

COS lithograph included, signed by Syme - just like, in fact, the one that I bought from them last year that was ltd to 100.

Honestly, what an absolute pisstake.

£350.00 would have been a reasonable price - and one I would have paid.

So what's the difference / incentive to buy the European edition? - I figured they were sending some to a Euro warehouse somewhere to prevent duty costs........

Just answered my own question.......nice to have but not at that price.......

The European Edition features a Hugh Syme designed Starman vellum page, which is exclusive to this limited edition.  Also included is the signed and numbered limited edition lithograph of Hugh Syme's detailed drawing of Caress of Steel, the first cover he worked on for Rush.  This lithograph is printed on acid-free archival quality paper and is numbered out of 350, matching the numbering of your Art of Rush book.
Also exclusive to this edition, you will receive a Hugh Syme Starman Litho, printed on premium gloss paper.

Bowie and Mick Rock released a gorgeous coffee table book for £500 signed by both just a few months before he passed - just to put it in context..

I got the Jimmy Page one which seemed expensive at the time - excellent quality book - but nowhere even near the price of this - in fact it appears to be available on Amazon now at an absolute bargain of £26  :o

I am wondering about the "Classic Edition" they have for a less eye-watering price of $99.99 - you don't get the extra lithos etc..... but the other details like the history of the album art seems to be the same........anyone else got this version?
