The thought of Alex no longer having to catch "the train to Bangkok"

Think he’s had it legally prescribed for a while?  Way ahead of us on this one is Trudeau.  Just needs to sort out his inane employment gender quota policy.

The Greasy Strangler

I suppose enjoyment of this depends on how much you like “cult” comedy horror movies.

It’s fairly amusing at times and wears its cheapo crapness and crudeness on its sleeve.  Definitely not for everyone though.

Think I read Kirsty Wark's name getting banded about?
Hope not. I get enough of her shocking wardrobe on Newsnight - hurts the eyes, she does.

I like seeing how far my £10 deposit (from a couple of months ago ) will go in my account , I was down to £3 last week , then a long shot double 22p e/w came in and more than 2.5 goals in yesterdays games have boosted my pot up to £16 , gone again with a £1 on todays 3 games at more than 2.5 goals each .

Managing England :The Impossible Job
Documentary about being England football manager. Excellent.
Scotland 78: A Love Story
Also excellent, the tale of the Scots' journey to Argentina, the hype, the issues and ultimate failure...
Both recommended

Maitlis would be the 'safe', diversity candidate with the added bonus that she would be able to reinforce the liberal BBC bias. She's just got her knickers in a complete twist though during an interview with a German politician who was describing the quite reasonable approach to illegal immigration - lost her temper when her bogus evidence was taken apart. She may turn it down, if offered, due to the lack of opportunity to flash her 'sexy' legs
Andrew Neil would be a better choice IMO

Jo Coburn would be a decent choice, I think.  Though of course it should strictly be based on merit and not some requirement to accede to regressive gender politics.

As much as I like Andrew Neil, I think QT would (quite rightly) shackle his urge to entertain and he's best kept on This Week where he can create considerably more mischief. :)  I think moving him from one to the other would create a net loss to what he can offer.

I think he's lost it quite a bit over the last 6-7 years. Either letting people waffle on, not letting them answer a question, or generally just keeping the debate in order without people shouting over each other etc.

I'd image, just like Doctor Who, they're going to go with a woman this time. Emily Maitlis immediately springs to mind but I could be wrong. Oddly enough I've quite enjoyed Richard Bacon when he's chaired Young Question Time, is very impartial and keeps the panel and audience in check
